A Fundraiser with a Difference! Thank you everyone, we had so many, many wonderful photos entered! The Results are:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This year we held a photo contest on the Berner-l, an idea spawned by Bobbie Abern, from Montana. There were four categories: Fun Pictures, Berner Studies, Berners & Kids and a fourth separate category for Professionals. Our goal was to raise $500 with the two grand prize winners designating which funds would receive half of the money raised. Photos were accepted during the month of April with an entry fee of $3 each or 2 for $5 for each category. Jean Cheesman, from the U.K., did a huge amount of work creating and keeping up the website for this fundraiser! Voting was done on line and was free (one vote per person for each category) from May 5 through 31. The winners of the categories were announced in early June: Fun Pictures - "Am I cute or what?" - by Carolyn McQuillen Berner Studies - "Sunset" - by Rachel Smith Berners and Kids ' "Complete Joy" - by Laura Lopez-Mendez Professional - "Concentration" - by Beth Schmoyer The grand prize winners and which funds they designated their prizes to go to are: Rachel Smith - AKC CHF Berner Lovers' Donor Advised Fund Beth Schmoyer - BEHAF All four winners received a basket of candy, compliments of Bobbie Abern and the two grand prize winners won an additional special super prize! The grand total raised by this fun fundraiser was $878! Thank you to everyone who entered photos in the contest and to those who voted on line for their favorite photos in each category.
