Baked Liver and Garlic Training Treats These treats I homebake and find an essential part of my training of my dogs, they love them and will do anything for anybody!  "
"Sit, Wait, and do not even look while I place the treats!" 
"OK! Good Dogs!" Jean's Recipe for Baked Liver and Garlic Training Treats Take 1lb of lamb's liver or other offal, sliced about 1/2 inch thick, and spread over a greased baking tray Sprinkle under and over with three finely chopped cloves of garlic. Bake in a very slow oven for about an hour until firm but not burnt! Allow to cool and then slice into small cubes, about 1/2 inch square These freeze down very well and make wonderful training treats! BTW! I am aware here of the very many recent health scares re. using garlic with our dogs! My awareness here is that always used with moderation garlic has many beneficial effects, is antiseptic and I even routinely feed my other animals too as is anti-worms and fleas and other parasites! I have had no parasite problem here over the years! Too much garlic can thin the blood! All things in Moderation but these are wonderful. healthy, low carb/low fat and very smelly training treats! |
