BARC, Inc. (Bernese Auction Rescue Coalition, Inc.) is a non-profit corporation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating Bernese Mountain Dogs from dog brokers, dog auctions, puppy mills, pet shops and any other dangerous, exploitative or abusive situations. BARC, Inc. places its rescues in loving pet homes as spayed or neutered companions. Donations to BARC are tax deductible; they are a 501©3 organization. *~*~ FUNDRAISER CHALLENGES ~*~*

I have a challenge from Peggy Rickenbach and Nell & John Ward, who have made nice donations to the BARC Fundraiser and they have both asked me to use their tickets as a challenge to raise more money for BARC!!! The first ten checks I receive dated on or after September 6, 2008 will received 6 BONUS TIER ONE TICKETS~! That is a value of $20 worth of FREE tickets when you donate $50 or more to the BARC Fundraiser.

I am also happy to announce a NEW CHALLENGE for our 2008 BARC Fundraiser. A very generous anonymous donor has made a contribution to our fundraiser and has asked me to use her tickets to encourage others to make donations to the BARC Fundraiser. The next 50 donations for $25 or more, dated on or after September 21, 2008 will receive 6 BONUS TIER TWO TICKETS!!!

*~*~ FUNDRAISER RESULTS *~*~


Took Bussard and I spent the evening finishing up the tickets for the drawing for the BARC Fundraiser, then we drew all of the winning tickets for each of the 128 prizes in Tier One and Tier Two. We did not quite hit our goal of surpassing the 2007 amount raised of $8275. As of right now, we have checks/cheques and pledged for $7,873.97, just $401.03 short of our goal. Who knows, there still might be some checks coming that will help put us over the goal. Now, the part that everyone is waiting for:

Berner paw print pendant

The Berner Paw is a "Very Limited Edition Series" Designed and custom made to raise money for Berner's. This one is Series 1 number 4. On the back is says S1/4 "To love one Berner is to love all." It is hand made of sterling silver and inlaid stones by a silversmith. Surrounded by mother of pearl to resemble snow. It measures approximately 1.5"x1.5" in size. The photo does not come close to showing it's real beauty. It comes with a 2mm sterling silver twisted rope chain, gift boxed.

A big thank you to Scout for the use of a photo with his paw print in the snow.

WiiFit

Wii Fit is a video game developed by Nintendo for the Wii console.[4] It is an exercise game consisting of activities utilizing the Wii Balance Board peripheral.

The balance board measures a user's weight and center of gravity. The software can then calculate the user's body mass index when told of his or her height. The game has roughly 40 different activities,[5] including yoga poses, push ups, and other exercises. Furthermore, Wii Fit allows its players to compare their fitness by using Wii Fit's own channel on the Wii Menu.[6] The game tracks a user's "Wii Fitness Age" through a body test basing the result on the user's current age, weight, and balance. Like the rest of the Wii Series, Wii Fit integrates Miis into its presentation and gameplay.
