TODAY'S TOPIC

The father, or I should say mother, of modern Science Fiction is today's topic. Join us as we take a look into author Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, the horror story of the Modern Prometheus that set the precedent for the Sci-Fi genre we know today.

Mary Shelley originally got the concept for "Frankenstein" from her nightmares, and began writing it in June 1816 at the age of 19. The story was the result of a competition between Mary Shelley and a friend; "Frankenstein" was the only story completed.

For those of you who have not read the book, "Frankenstein" is very different than Hollywood's renditioin of the story. I hope that after reading our articles, you will be able to come to a better understanding of this Sci-Fi/Horror classic.
