An Analysis on Sorato
AKA a really big rant...
Yes.... it happened. Frankly... back in the day, this was my worst fear. (Well, other than Mimato and nuclear war....:P) Let me just say, I did NOT expect this to happen at all. It was probably the last Digimon-related thing on my mind. But I won’t get into details about my horrid past.
Before Digimon Adventure premiered this ‘Sorato’ thang, I would definitely have thought that Mimato would occur. After all, the number of Mimato fanfic outnumber the Sorato ones. In fact, before Sorato came true, I did not read a single fic about a Matt/Sora pairing... not one. And I have read many many Digimon fanfics. I’ll bet none of you ever expected it to happen either, but even when they weren’t a couple, Sora was always one of the most hated Digimon character of all time. Well, let’s face the facts: Colleen O’Shaghnessy has a HORRIBLE voice and cannot act; her helmet looked gay; she was always too serious and sucked the fun out of everything; she was stupid overall. And then, after the inevitable happened.... she became even more hated.
But really, people, Sora probably never even chose to love Yama, it was all the fault of the Japanese producers of ‘Digimon Adventure 02,’ so let’s all flame them!! Too bad I don’t have the addresses..... :( It was totally not her decision... in fact: SHE’S NOT EVEN REAL!! Now... let’s not get into that fact with Yama.... I love a cartoon character, and I will stick to that. If you disagree and decide to flame me, go ahead, but I’ll have no idea why you’d be at my site anyway.
Okay, now that I’ve defended Sora a little bit, let’s get onto the dissing, shall we? First, I wanna make it clear: Recently, I haven’t been all angry and ‘death to sora-ish,’ so I’m re-collecting my anger just to make this link, k? If you’re a Sora/Sorato fan: GO AWAY!!!
Well, I warned you.
Sorato does NOT make sense!! Sora and Matt make a HORRIBLE COUPLE!! Well, it’s just the Sora part that makes it horrible..... But honestly, they have NOTHING in common, they are absolutely INCOMPATABLE!! Sora: the smiling ditz who’s hated, is not fun, and has no life. Then there’s Yama: sweet guy, fun-loving, awesome....etc.... Poor Yama... the producers must have hated him for some reason to make him suffer SO immensely.
And here’s a fact: Yamato impregnated her TWICE!! You know what that means.... o_O!!! Well, unless Sora raped him while he was asleep... kinda like a succubus! ^^ Well, now we all know how the name ‘Oni-Sora’ came from... lol!
Ack, I know, I’m jumping between time frames... but it all started in ‘A Very Digi-Christmas,’ when Sora offered weed cookies to Yamato. I guess in Japan, that’s a way of expressing love. And of course, Yamato could have refused them.... but NO!! And because Sora smuggled drugs into the batter, he became kinda hypnotized and became Sora’s slave. j/k!! :P But hey... that could be possible.... And oh yea... she left poor lil Taichi all alone without her. I just don’t get it.... how could so many people like Sora? I’ve met a few kids around, and they actually admit that they have a crush on Sora... I mean, SORA!!
Even more importantly: WHAT ABOUT TAITO!?! I swear, Taito will one day rule. I used to think that people only believed in Taito because it was a pairing that could never happen... but I still hope it will. ~_^ After all, reading Tai’s last name backwards spells ‘I’m a gay,’ and that’s proof enough for me. And I mean, come on, Tai wanted to hold his goddamn hand!! And the roses.... what about the pic of Yama hold Tai, who was clutching a bouquet of ROSES!?! *sigh*
