Email: shella@iinet.net.au

Occupation: I'm actually working now. I've survived pretty much 5 years of university and am currently surviving my first job. Life's good so far, but I'm flooded with work now so that just means less time for my obsession with Japanese Animation, especially Houshin Engi.

Favourite Anime/manga: Too many to count:

  • Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
  • FullMetal Alchemist
  • Claymore
  • Houshin Engi
  • Gundam Wing
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • 3 x 3 Eyes
  • Naruto
  • Magic Knight Rayearth
  • Yu Yu Hakusho,
  • Kiba (anime only)
  • Bleach
  • and many many more.

History of my Site:
Well, I don't really remember when I first started my site, I think it was 5 years ago or something like that. I do remember that when it first came online, it used the colour scheme of black and white, and me being completely unoriginal, kept the name as "Ou Eki and Taikoubou Shrine". At the time, I was hooked on Houshin no Miko, Houshin.net and Hop.to.Houshin. I found that there weren't that many english sites out there that deals with the manga of Houshin Engi, and so I became inspired to start my own. I decided to concentrate on mainly information and less on the other stuff that all the other sites have. My main purpose is to list out all (or as much as I know) the characters in the manga into some sort of list that people can read all their summaries. It took me forever to get that finished.. even now, it is probably still undergoing small changes here and there.

My site used a lot of frames at first (easier to manage the links) but it looked awful and was difficult to maintain the structure. I remembered I changed my style several times, from gray to black and white to (I think) purple once, and then to the nice blue snow one of the last 2 years, before finally I've made it evolve into this thing. I got rid of the frames because I find that the loading of the page looks so much better without the scroll bars always present.

After I added a few more galleries and things, everything became to big for one Angelfire account, so I had to get a few more. Then Angelfire decided to cut back on the amount of memory for each account which meant that I had to move all my files once again. And finally, I realised I need to go pro (or at least upgrade my bandwidth and website space so that I can dump more pictures and media stuff on to there), hence I'm actually paying for this damn now, after living 5 years for free. I am so glad I actually have a job as I'm usually broke most of the time.

Um.. I do enjoy working on my site. It's good for me to see how I progressed in my design skills from a basic black coloured background and texts to something that looks like this.

Learning from Uni helped a lot in my design principles. In this year alone, I've finally started to understand how to use Javascript and CSS styling (very useful). I've done a bit of PHP, Java and other programming languages, but I found that I am just not cut out at programming, so instead I concentrate on using these WYSIWYG programs (What you see is what you get) such as Macromedia Dreamweaver and other such programs. Who knows, perhaps one day, I'll even add a flash intro instead of a html one. ^_^ What do you think?

History of my fanfiction:
I started writing stories (I don't know) ages ago. The first one I ever wrote was Child of Destiny. For some odd reason, I got hooked on reading fanfictions online, especially Yuu Yuu Hakusho ones. Other anime fanfictions I read were Card Captor Sakura, Yugioh (god this was so long ago) and Neon Genisis (I was a huge fan back then). So yeah, when I first started writing Child of Destiny, I had only watched the first 2 episodes of YYH, and I had never read the manga, everything I had on that story was discovered through fanfiction. ^_^; Kind of amusing huh?

Anyway, it was basically when I finished Child of Destiny and started working on my Neon Genesis fic - Finding Strength to Live, that's when I dropped out of the fandom for YYH, Yugioh, CCS and such, and moved on to Naruto and Gundam Wing. I'm STILL hooked on stories for Naruto and Gundam Wing. GW just has such a huge variety of genre and some of these stories are damn good, they actually make me think and realise things. ^_^

Anyway, so here I was reading Naruto fics, I started getting dreams about a certain plot line - what if Naruto survived an assassination attempt on his life and had to leave Konoha when he was much younger, what happens then. The dream wouldn't leave me a lone until I finally wrote it out. Suffice to say, I was really nervous about that story, I had no idea where it was going and didn't have a theme or even a title. It was during the moment when I had to publish the first chapter, that's when I randomly added a title to it - Faith in Humanity.

It spawned a monster of a story! For the first few chapters of FoH, I got more reviews than my finished story - Child of Destiny. I decided to dedicate full time to it and see where it'll take me. It didn't take long before I realised that there was no way I could fit it all into one story, so I broke it up into 3 parts. Mind you, I still didn't have a clue how I wanted it to end. It was just one plot side story after another, and it kept on building momentum and complexity that even I had a hard time keeping up with it.

For some odd reason, people really liked the name "Faith in Humanity", and after a majority vote, I decided to keep the 'Faith' theme, and hence resulted in "Restoration of Faith", and finally "Trials of Faith". As of the end of 2007, the first 2 arcs of my 3-part series is finished, and I'm working on the last story line - the Trials of Faith.

Wish me luck in finishing this. The Faith series is already more than 4 years old. That's 4 years working on the same story. Talk about Epic! I swear, I will never NEVER write another EPIC on this scale again. So enjoy it while it lasts!

Well, I think that's all the notes that I'm willing to give out. If anyone wish to speak to me directly, please email me. I always reply back (that is, if my stupid email works ^_^)
