Short Summery:

Suzumi is a half-breed Dokudes like her brother. However, she doesn’t show the affiliation to medical Jutsus or the Chakra-to-molecule manipulation ability that Dokudes’s are known for, which is why she’s a major disappointment to Orochimaru. The only reason she’s still in the Sound village at all, considering her weak body and abilities, is because she is the sister of Kabuto and his only relative. Orochimaru keeps her alive as a safety net just in case Kabuto ever thinks about betraying him.

Many years ago, Suzumi had been living a peaceful life with her parents and her brother. However, after her mother had been killed by her aunt (whom was at the time, a gate guardian), Yakuto slowly became more and more obsessed with revenge. As such, he went to find Orochimaru, requesting him to give the boy power to gain vengeance. During his time away from home while studying under the tutelage of Orochimaru, Suzumi’s home were suddenly attacked by outside ninjas (whom she wasn’t sure which Ninja villages). Once Kabuto had heard the news, he quickly rushed to help his sister and father, only to find out that he had been too late. His father was already dead, and his sister was missing. Kabuto stayed behind and mourned for the death of his family before he was later picked up by a Konoha Medic Nin and brought back to the Leaf. During the first few months, Kabuto had been totally depressed and unwilling to live on. That was until one night, when Orochimaru sent a message to Kabuto saying that he had found his little sister and she is safe with him. However, as a compromise, Kabuto had to stay behind in the Leaf to act as a spy for Orochimaru, otherwise, Suzumi would be the one who cope with the consequences.

After that, many years had passed with Suzumi never even seeing her brother. While Kabuto secretly grew in strength, Suzumi struggled with learning the Ninja arts as it just wasn’t her forte nor was it her interest. Basically, she hated being a Ninja and especially hated Orochimaru. But for her brother’s safety, she stayed loyal to the man. She knew that her brother was once again fixated at vengeance against the Kuunoki and there was nothing else she could do. She was a prisoner (in order to keep her brother in line) and she was also a puppet whose strings can easily be pulled by Orochimaru. Suzumi hates her situation but couldn’t find any way out of this game of tug-of-war. For her brother, she was willing to suffer and die.
