Part of an Email I sent to Trendmasters on 02/15/02:
I'm having difficulty finding some of your Cardcaptors products. I hope
they weren't discontinued or anything. I went to your web site, but I
couldn't find anything helpful on Cardcaptors merchandise so I'm
emailing you. I've heard of several items but never saw them so I'm
interested in what's available now and for the following year.
Do you have a list of what's available so I know what to look for, and a
list of who's selling your Cardcaptors products?
Also can we buy from you in bulk? Do you have an order catalog? I'm
interesting in ordering many Cardcaptors items in cases if available.
Response from Trendmasters:
Because our minimum order is $10,000, small retail stores prefer to purchase product
from a distributor. Below are distributors that carry our products:
Midwest - MW Kasch - 262-242-5000
New York - Shepher - 718-649-2525
However, if you are planning to order over the amount listed, please call
1-800-648-2250 and ask for our sales department.
If your order will be over this amount, then we can put you in touch with our Sales
Department.
As far as where to buy Cardcaptors items via retailer, you may want to try close-out
stores in your area, since these are discontinued.
Sincerely,
Vikki @Trendmasters (Vdavis@trendmasters.com)

Report sent in by Ramachandran (Revathy)
I stay in Bangalore, India and I only get Cartoon Network here. I don't think I
get Kids WB or Teletoon here. Cartoon Network started airing Cardcaptors from the
beginning of the series and not from Sakura's Rival. It came every Sunday night
from 9:00 to 10:00 at nights and at 6:30 which was the repeat till the end of
season 1 which was the third element. After which it came only at 6:30. I guess
after the repeats [6:30] are over on April 27 the new season might
start. Cardcaptors has been coming in the original order
with no cuts here in English. Cardcaptors
is coming on the Toonami section at present. --Thank you for your most
valuable information, Michael

BURBANK, CA (February 11, 2002) -- Kids' WB! has committed to new season pick-ups for the next installment of POKÉMON: MASTER
QUEST and the hit series JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES, X-MEN: EVOLUTION, THE MUMMY: SECRETS OF THE MEDJAI and RESCUE HEROES: GLOBAL

"Kids' WB! is proud to be partnered with the best talent in the kids' business to produce the highest quality hit shows for
kids," said Ms. Friedman. "I'm thrilled to announce the pick-up of five series which have become the cornerstones of Kids' WB!
#1 line-up."
The network continues to dominate as a market leader in kids' television and has maintained its top-rated position this
season as the #1 broadcast network in key demographics and #1 overall in Boys 6-11. Season-to-date, Pokémon: Johto League
Champions, Jackie Chan Adventures, X-Men: Evolution and The Mummy have consistently dominated their Saturday morning time
periods, ranking among the top 10 broadcast and cable programs. Leading all competition in the key demographic of Boys 6-11,
these programs outperform the broadcast competition among Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11 and Boys 2-11.
In the highly-competitive 4th Quarter of 2001, when most of the kids' advertising revenue is spent, Kids' WB! dominated
the broadcast competition in every half-hour it programmed with eight time period wins among Kids 6-11, Boys 2-11 and Boys
6-11, and won seven of eight half-hours among Kids 2-11. In addition, the network led the Saturday morning broadcast
competition with seven of the top 10 programs in Kids 6-11, Boys 2-11 and Boys 6-11, and took six of the top 10 broadcast
program spots in Kids 2-11.
With a highly successful original programming line-up, strategic scheduling and aggressive research, Kids' WB! has
set precedent with its diverse and innovative schedule, featuring the network's hallmark ingredients: high-adventure,
humor and heart; compelling storylines; and kid relatable characters for boys and girls. The series picked up for new
seasons for the 2002-2003 schedule include:
Beginning its fifth season, 52 all-new episodes of Pokémon: Master Quest will highlight Kids' WB!, airing six days
a week. From 4Kids Productions, Inc., the next installment of the top-rated franchise follows Ash and the gang as
they continue their adventures through different, exotic lands as they strive to be the ultimate trainers ñ meeting
new friends, facing peril and danger along the way...and always, looking to catch more Pokémon.
Jackie Chan and the smash-hit series Jackie Chan Adventures return for a third season of 13 exciting episodes and a
new mission as Jackie and his feisty 11-year-old niece, Jade, must locate the immortal animals from the Chinese zodiac
that now possess the mystical powers of the magical talismans from first season -- before the dark chi wizard upsets
the balance of good and evil in the world. The series, from Sony Pictures Family Entertainment, will bring more
comedy-action-adventures six days a week.
X-Men: Evolution introduces new characters and explores new relationships as they enter into a third season
with 13 all-original episodes. As the teenage mutants use their powers to protect the world from evil, they
also try to maintain some normalcy in their lives...discovering first loves, forbidden friendships and a
struggle to control the legacy of the X-Men. The series, produced by Marvel Studios in association with Film
Roman, delves deep into the rich, intriguing mythology of the X-Men world.
Based on the blockbuster-hit feature film franchise, the legend continues in The Mummy: Secrets of the Medjai
as 11-year-old Alex O'Connell, and his parents Rick and Evy, embark on a new quest this season ñ to return the
Mummy to the underworld, while uncovering the truth about their past, facing treacherous new villains and
learning Alex's destiny... Produced by Universal Home Entertainment Productions, the series is set in the
1930s and combines exotic locations with a contemporary attitude in 13 new high-adventure, comedy-filled episodes.
The all-original animated series Rescue Heroes: Global Response Team brings 13 new adrenaline-pumping episodes.

While a good amount of information has come out regarding the two upcoming versions of the first Cardcaptor Sakura movie, we got a bit
more clarification on the uncut version that I had been looking for. So let's run down the two:
| Cardcaptors The Movie | Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie |
| 4:3 Pan & Scan | 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen |
| English 2.0 Soundtrack | English 2.0 Soundtrack, English 5.1 Soundtrack, Japanese 2.0 Soundtrack, Japanese 5.1 Soundtrack |
| Extras: Froggy Mix Music Video, and Theatrical Trailer | Extras: English / Japanese Trailers and Commercials, alternate angle footage and more |
To make things even more interesting, there is no cuts being made to the Cardcaptors dub-only movie. Well, beyond the image being cropped and panned and
scanned. The dub on the dub-only disc is the same as the widescreen movie edition. The footage is exactly the same across the two. My guess is that this
allows those who don't want to touch the Japanese version can do so by getting what the TV discs are like. But for those who have wanted an uncut dub, this is
where you make out the best. The widescreen bilingual disc looks to be the clear winner here.
TokyoPOP reports that in November 2001 Walden Books will have CLAMP displays which will include Clover,
Cardcaptor Sakura, and Magic Knight Rayearth. Borders will be having a Sailor Moon display in November and December 2001.

KID RHINO PAIRS UP WITH CARDCAPTOR SAKURA TO CAPTURE THE MAGIC!
Cardcaptors: Music From The Hit TV Series Due September 18
LOS ANGELES - Kid Rhino unleashes the magic with the release of CARDCAPTORS: MUSIC FROM THE HIT TV SERIES. What happens when high fashion, action, romance, and adventure are combined with poppy and trendy new music from a widely popular anime style cartoon?
Kid Rhino has the answer in CARDCAPTORS: MUSIC FROM THE HIT TV SERIES. Available on CD with 13 different tracks written specifically for the show, Cardcaptors features pop music for ‘tweens like “Guardian Of The Cards” by Tempest, “Invisible Me” by Pure West, “Ordinary Girl” by Superhum and “I Can Make It” by Magic Carpet.
The album will also include France’s mega-hit song "No Nagging" by singing sensation Froggy Mix, which has sold more than 700,000 copies in France. This song also has a music video, which features clips from Cardcaptors and will air on Kids’ WB! in August/September.
Strong, feisty, and smart, Sakura Avalon begins to show the world just how much girl power she really has when she embarks on the magical and mysterious journey that is the Cardcaptors’ mission. Sakura begins her trek when she finds a book of “Clow Cards” (magical cards with legendary powers). After accidentally letting the cards loose, Sakura must re-capture them to save the world from imminent destruction. Sakura must prove that she can take care of the job by teaming up with fellow Cardcaptor Li Showron and her fuzzy friend Kero, who, together as a team, vie to capture the cards.
Throughout the show, the friends face action-filled adventures based on themes of honor, dedication, friendship, and loyalty--all of which are presented in songs written and produced especially for the series. The popular show appeals to girls and boys alike, with its merchandise quickly becoming a hot commodity for teens and ’tweens.
In addition to great music, the album also contains an exclusive Cardcaptors collectible game card from Upper Deck. The recent release of Upper Deck’s Cardcaptors Collectible card game has generated a huge interest among kids. Tournaments in mall locations continue to attract new players, drawing record crowds.
Cardcaptors airs five times a week on Kids’ WB! and has expanded its coverage to The Cartoon Network’s Toonami block which reaches 73 million U.S. households.

New Online Cardcaptors Game and Movie Announcement
From Anime News Service: From the official release:
New Online Cardcaptors Game At Clowbook.com The Power of the Clow Captures Kids' on the Web
NEW YORK- Today at Toy Fair in Trendmaster's showroom, Nelvana announced the launch of the Cardcaptors Challenge, the new online, interactive game where kids can surf the Web to collect and trade elusive Cardcaptors Clow Cards summoning the power of the Clow with the click of a mouse. The launch is being held at the Trendmasters Showroom located at The Toy Center South, 200 Fifth Avenue, Suite 259 at 5:30 PM.
The official Cardcaptors website at www.clowbook.com has been a hot destination for kids and anime fans as a place to find out all about lead character Sakura's adventures, view exclusive clips and enter contests. Now fans can become Cardcaptors themselves in this fun, interactive game.
An earlier version of the game was launched in partnership with AOL (U.S.) and Kids WB! as a contest over a three-week period during the holiday season. Available exclusively to AOL/Kids (U.S.) users in partnership with Kids' WB! The contest was enormously successful increasing page views to the site by over 250% and resulting in over 70,000 contest entries. The Grand Prize winner will be flown to Toronto for the opportunity to record a voice to a character in an upcoming Cardcaptors episode.
Nelvana's Jay Udow, Vice President Marketing says: ``Bringing Cardcaptors online through Clowbook.com has opened up a wealth of opportunity to bring the brands to a new and expanding marketplace. It brings Sakura into the homes of fans looking for an interactive Cardcaptors experience while at the same time acting as an ideal vehicle for cross-promotion and partnerships as was the case with the recent AOL/Kids WB! Contest.''
Today marks the launch of the full Cardcaptors Challenge. Fans can follow the clues taking them to selected sites throughout the Internet as they attempt to complete their very own Clow Book. Some cards are more elusive and sought after than others. To capture more crafty cards, fans will have to pull together and enter the different trading rooms where they can trade amongst themselves and finally complete their collection.
Since debuting on Kids' WB! this season, Cardcaptors has soared to the third highest rated anime series for kids 2-11 according to Nielsen Media Research (Source: Nielsen Media Research, Season-to-Date 9/1/00 - 12/31/00; Includes ABC, FOX, CBS and Kids' WB!). A North American Cardcaptors movie release is scheduled for Fall 2001, bringing this highly successful property to a larger audience.
DATE: July 19, 2000
TORONTO, July 19 /CNW/ - NELVANA Limited (TSE: NTV and NASDAQ: NELV)
today announced that its Japanese anime series, Cardcaptors, has garnered solid ratings and critical acclaim after just four weeks on Kids' WB! The
series has also captured the interest of North American merchandise licensing companies, including Trendmasters, which this month signed up as the
property's master toy licensee. Cardcaptors makes its Canadian television debut on Teletoon in late August.
Cardcaptors, produced for Nelvana by Japan's Kodansha, premiered on the Kids' WB! on Saturday, June 17 at 9:30 a.m. (ET) and has captivated young
viewers and delivered strong gains from its Pokemon lead-in at 9 a.m. After four weeks on the air, the show has averaged a 2.8 rating and 13 share among
Kids 2-11, according to the Nielsen Television Index (NTI). Among Boys 2-11, Cardcaptors has posted a four-week average 4.0 rating
and 17 share. Cardcaptors is also delivering increasingly strong performances in the all-important Girls 2-11 and Girls 6-11 demos.
Cardcaptors tells a colourful tale of a young girl named Sakura who, along with her friend Li, battles evil with the use of very special tarot-like
cards. Cardcaptors is also attracting North American merchandise licensing companies to the character brand. Nelvana has signed a significant master toy
and timepiece licensing agreement with Trendmasters to market plush toys, dolls, collectible figurines, dress-up and role play toys, as well as
novelties that include a magic wand and light-up key chains and the Clow Book, which holds the magical cards from which lead character Sakura derives her
powers.
Michael Hirsh, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Nelvana, says: "Cardcaptors is one of Nelvana's most promising new properties. Its increasingly strong
television performance is driving demand for merchandise and we are optimistic this brand will have substantial marketing legs. We are thrilled with the
response to Cardcaptors from potential licensees and promotional partners like Trendmasters."
To date, Nelvana has received a total of 21 commitments from licensees to the property, including Pioneer for home video and DVD, Scholastic for
publishing, Upper Deck for trading cards and Changes for t-shirts. Nelvana's dynamic new Cardcaptors web site can be accessed at
www.clowbook.com or from Nelvana's web site at www.nelvana.com. Fans of the show who register on the web site can watch two-minute sneak previews of
upcoming new episodes and learn more about the legendary mythology of the show and its characters.
