Li was startled from the high pitched screech of Sakura's scream. Giant
sweat drops ran down Sakura's face as she sat straight up in the bed. She
frantically looked around the room thinking she was still in the dream.
"Are you alright?" Li asked
as he rushed over to her side.
Sakura just laid there looking straight
ahead in a daze.
"You shouldn't do things like that
Sakura, I thought there was really something wrong with you," Li spoke
agin.
The distant Sakura continued to
stare off into space as if she had not heard Li at all.
"Sakura why-"
" The chanting it was so loud,'
Sakura began.
"What are you talking about,"
Li questioned.
" The chanting from my dream it
was the same chanting I heard in the factory it took control of me Li, I
couldn't move at all it was like he was in me."
"He?"
" I don't know who he is but from
the sound of his voice I could tell he was a man," Sakura answered.
" You shouldn't have left my side
Sakura, I told you that you weren't strong enough to go off on your own like
that. You could have lost all your magic. Sakura are you listening to
me?"
Sakura looked completely spaced out. It
had looked like there was not a soul or spirit withing her.
"Sakura! Snap out of it," Li
stammered as he desperately shook her trying to find consciousness.
Sakura finally had come back to her
senses. She blinked as tears began to develope at the corner of her eyes.
"I can't do it Li, I know that
it's up to me to make things right, but I can't ween protect myself. I was
there Li, when all my magic almost got sucked completely out of me, but I
couldn't do anything about it."
Overcome by her tears Sakura began to
sob as she laid her head on Li's shoulder. Not knowing what to say or do Li
let her to continue to sob on the comfort of his shoulder.
Li pulled a hankerchif from his pocket
and handed over to Sakura. Sakura accepted it and wiped her tears.
"I-I'm sorry," Sakura started
apologetically.
"For what," Li asked.
"It was foolish of me to fall
apart like this I should have been stronger than that. You said that you
would teach me how to combine my magic with martial arts right? Do you think
you could teach me now?"
" Of course, if you're up to
it."
"The sooner I learn the stronger I
can get."
"There are some of Meilin's old
training uniforms in that drawer over there I'm pretty sure they'll fit you.
You can chanfe into them and meet me out back."
Li began to leave by then quickly said,
" You know even though the fate of the world lies on your shoulders
does not mean you should neglect your own well being. If you're not feeling
up to it, Sakura then-"
"I'm fine Li just give me a minute
to change then I'll be down for you to teach me, " Sakura said flatly.
LI left the room. He couldn't help but
wonder if his words before had some negative affect on her. Ever since the
incident at the factory she had not been acting herself at all her cheery
disposition was vanquished and was replace with a mildly cold piece of mind.
Sakura slowly changed into the training
clothes. She was still a little shaken up over the previous events.
"Being myself before had only gotten me into deep trouble letting
myself dwell on worries, curiosity and emotion will only weaken me. I'm not
at home catching the cards with Kero anymore those days are over. I and now
the proven mistress of the cards and I'l do all I cant to make sure their
power does not fall into the wrong hads," Sakura thought o herself as
she finished buttoning up the outfit.
Sakura went downstairs as she began to
go out back to where she was to train, but for some reason she couldn't
quite find her way. It was so weird , things looked so distorted it seemed
to be the effect of that Illusion gave ff after it was used.
"Where am I? What's going
on," Sakura thought to herself.
"Sakura! Sakura," Sakura
could hear Li desperately call from hidden directions.
" Li? Where are you," Sakura
called back trying to find her way.
"Suddenly she was wearing the
black and red rse bud battle outfit again just like in her dream. The star
cards appeared and circled around her. She reached out fir ibe but then they
all disappeared. The ground gave way then She began to fall just as her
dream ended. Only this time she couldn't scream everything was silent. She
didn't wake up either "is this a dream? She thought, but it was too
real and yet so extraordinary at the same time. She landed in a gigantic
pool of water. she could feel herself sinking, but she couldn't swim to the
surface , something was pulling her down. The surface was slowly freezing
over so out of desperationg she broke free, but she was too late. As soon as
he got to the surface it had already completely frozen over. In a panick she
began to knock as hard as she could at the ice wall, until she was a firey
storm sprawl over the ice surface and melt and dry up the ice and water. She
could finally breathe again, but the fire was getting hotter and was about
to burn her skin. Out from underneath the fire vines rose and carried her
high above it. She was grateful she was away from the fire, but now the
vines were tightning a strangling grip around her. It was so tight she
couldn't move or breathe. Just when she was about ready to give out the
vines and fire and pralell room disappeared. Sakura fell to the ground. She
had a few burns and cuts and bruises dispursed across her body. She ached
and couldn't move. The series of events had left her in a state of shock.
" Sakura! Sakura," Li called
as frantically ran into the house looking for Sakura.
He found her lying in the hallway. Her
pupils were dialated, her face was straight, and she was in the worst shape
that he had ever seen her in.
" Sa-Sakura," was all Li
could manage to say as he stared at his taterd, retched friend. He clenched
his fist just at the very thought of who could ever have done this to her.
