All the Sailor Soldiers, Princess Serenity, and Prince Darien were reborn in Tokyo, Japan ,without any memory of the Moon Kingdom. As Queen Serenity had warned, Queen Beryl and Metallia were somehow freed from the seal that should have held them for eternity and they began wreaking havoc on the city of Tokyo, where everyone had been reborn. Queen Beryl commanded her warriors to look for the Imperium Silver Crystal, which would give her unbelievable power. Luna, who was separated from Artemis, began to search for the Sailor Soldiers and the Moon Princess.
Luna first found Serena, a young girl of 14, who became Sailor Moon, the leader of the Scouts. She was told by Luna that the mission of the Sailor Scouts was to find the Imperium Silver Crystal. After it is found, the Moon Princess would be revealed and the Sailor Scouts would have to protect her, so that she can defeat the Negaverse once and for all. Soon after, Luna found Sailor Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus, who was accompanied by Artemis. Together the Sailor Scouts fought the Negaverse.
Darien, as Tuxedo Mask fought along side them and helped the Scouts in their battles. At first, Darien was clueless about him being Tuxedo Mask, but he figured it out after awhile. As a young boy, he had lost his mother and father and his memory in a car accident, and he had no idea who he really was. His only clue was a particular dream he kept having of a beautiful princess calling out to him to find the Silver Imperium Crystal. As Tuxedo Mask, he searched for it, hoping it would somehow clue him in of who he really was. Sailor Moon quickly fell in love with Tuxedo Mask, most likely because he always showed up to rescue her from danger. Little did she know that he was in reality Darien, a guy who never fell short of teasing Serena and whom she hated.
It was discovered that seven Rainbow Crystals were needed to find the Imperium Silver Crystal. By the time all seven crystals were discovered, Tuxedo Mask had half of them and Zoisite, one of Beryl's generals, had the remaining crystals. The Sailor Scouts began thinking that perhaps Tuxedo Mask was an in fact an enemy because he wouldn't cooperate in giving the crystals to them. But oddly enough, Tuxedo Mask gave Sailor Moon the Star Locket, a music box.
Zoisite proposed a duel with Tuxedo Mask, and the winner would get all the seven crystals. During this duel, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask where forced to revealed their true identities to each other. Darien was fatally attacked by Zoisite and Serena cried. The seven Rainbow Crystals came together with one of Serena's tears and formed the Silver Imperium Crystal. Then, Serena was transformed into the beautiful Moon Princess, much to everyone's surprise! The dying Darien was then captured by Queen Beryl, who healed him but filled him with evil.
He then began fighting against Sailor Moon (as Prince Darien) and it was extremely painful and emotional for Sailor Moon to fight against him. She continued to have hope that they would be able to bring his true self back. Using the Crescant Wand, Princess Serena stood against the evil Queen Beryl and defeated her and the negaverse, and healed Prince Darien by reminding him of their love with the Star Locket he had given her.
After another war with another villain, Darien and Serena were finally together and very much in love. One day, a little girl who looked very much like Serena fell from the sky and demanded that Serena hand over the Silver Crystal. Her name was Rini (real name Serena) and she had come back in time to save her mother in the 30th century. Many similarities were visible between Serena and Rini.
Soon after, Darien began to have horrible nightmares about Serena dying because he was close to her. He thought the dreams meant that he shouldn't be near her or she'd die. So, he coldly refused to see her for a long time and Serena was heart-wrenchingly upset. Finally, after many tears on both sides, Darien couldn't hold back his true love for Serena any longer! And they made up. ^_^
Sailor Moon, Tuxedo Mask, and the Scouts traveled to the future to save Rini's mother. In the future Tokyo, Crystal Tokyo, they met Darien's future self, King Endymion. He told them that Serena would one day become Neo-Queen Serenity. And, shocking everyone, he told them that Rini was Serena and Darien's only daughter. He admitted to had given Darien the nightmares to test the their love . Crystal Tokyo was under attack by the Negamoon. Neo-Queen Serenity was in a deep sleep and King Endymion was too injured to defend the kingdom. With the help of the Sailor Scouts, the Negamoon was defeated and Neo-Queen Serenity was saved. Rini, then returned to her parents in Crystal Tokyo with a little bit of sadness. "Good-bye, Mommy!" Rini cried to Serena as was whisked to the future.
After Rini's left, Serena and Darien continued their relationship and battled beside each other. No matter what happened, they never stopped in believing in their love.
Rini once again returned to present day Tokyo. This time her mother wanted her to train to become a Sailor Scout. She was named "Sailor Chibi Moon". Rini and Serena fought very often! More like a sister relationship than a mother-daughter one! Actually, much like when Rini first came, but whenever Rini was in some sort of danger, Serena was always willing to sacrifice herself to protect Rini.
Once again a villain came, seeking revenge on the people of the White Moon Kingdom. Queen Neherenia, queen of the Black Moon, captured Darien and took possession of him. If Sailor Moon did not get to him in time, his mind would be filled with dark energy and he could never again be returned to normal. Rini was beginning to fade because her future existence was in danger. Serena had to save them both. Although she was forced to walk through an arctic blizzard in her school uniform without shoes, overcome an illusion of perfect bliss and walk through a bridge of thorns to come to a place where she was repeatedly blasted, she got through!! The most difficult thing though was that she loved Queen Neherenia enough to see that she just a lost and lonely soul and felt sorry for her. Her love for Darien, Rini, and even those who brought her harm broke Darien's spell and healed the evil Queen. Once she was defeated, Rini went back to Crystal Tokyo.
Just when Serena entered high school, Darien was accepted to a university in the USA and was leaving Tokyo for three years to study there. Both of them were a sad but excited that Darien had such a good opportunity. At the airport, Darien gave Serena a promise ring, promising her that he would be faithful to her and wouldn't forget her. Serena also promised that she would wait for him.
At the same time, the Three Lights, a popular singing group arrived in Tokyo. They were Serena's age, attended her school, and became they became the Sailor Starlights. One of them, Seiya, had a big crush on Serena. Seiya's affection for her tested Serena's love for Darien. Seiya was famous, was more powerful, and reminded her a lot of her beloved Darien. He even sometimes called her "Meatball Head"!! Since Darien was away, it was Seiya who rescued her or sacrificed himself for her. Serena's friends would tease her about the two of them but she'd always denied everything. Serena wrote Darien every single day since he had been away, but she'd never received a one single letter from him. It quite often looked pretty bad for the two of them! Even through all of this, Serena remained faithful.
Later on, she discovered that Darien never even made it to his destination!! He had been brutally attacked by Galaxia, the legendary Golden Scout (and the newest enemy), on the airplane and had been defeated. In the very last battle, Galaxia killed all the Scouts, except for the Sailor Starlights and Sailor Moon. Though her treasured friends and her true love were dead, she somehow found hope never gave up. She got into the good part of Sailor Galaxia and freed her from the evil that was possessing her. All the Scouts and Tuxedo Mask were brought back to life. (YAY!! :D )
The Sailor Starlights, along with their princess, Princess Fireball, were now returning to their planet. Seiya was very sad about leaving Serena and said, "I'll never forget you." She said, "Yes, we're friends forever." Ignorant Serena never quite understood Seiya's true feelings for her. Seiya asked Darien to protect her from now on and then, Princess Fireball and the Sailor Starlights left.
Serena and Darien shared another kiss. They were together once again and nothing else could come between their love.
