Two thousand years ago, there was an era in history called the Silver Millenium. It was an time of peace and harmony between all planets, that lasted for one-thousand years. On the moon was the Moon Kingdom and it was ruled by the beautiful Queen Serenity. The Moon Kingdom was the centre of our solar system and all the princesses from the surrounding planets would come to the Moon's celebrations.
Queen Serenity had one child, a girl much like her mother, named Princess Serenity, who was young and gentle. She would spend much of her time gazing at Earth from the Moon Palace. She loved things the Moon did not have, such as the trees and oceans. Also, she fell in love with a brave, handsome man there. He was Prince Endymion, the prince of Earth.
The day after one thousand years of peace, the evil force Metallia took posession a human on Earth named Beryl. Using the evil Negaforce, she possessed the minds of many humans and quickly took over the planet Earth. She used the possessed humans as soldiers and her four Negaverse warriors, Jedite, Nephlite, Malachite, and Zoicite, Queen Beryl planned her strike on the Moon Kingdom so she would rule both Earth and Moon.
Prince Endymion hurried to the Moon Kingdom to warn Princess Serenity. Everyone on the Moon Kingdom thought that Earth was now their enemy and that no humans from there could be trusted. The love between the prince and princess was forbidden, but Prince Endymion would do his best to protect the Moon, even though he would be against his own planet. They shared a last kiss before he left to fight.
Queen Beryl and Metallia attacked and nothing on the Moon was left. The Sailor Soldiers, princesses of the surrounding planets (also the guardians of Princess Serenity), and the Moon's army tried their best to defend the Moon but each and everyone of them died without success. Finally, Queen Beryl cast her evil glare upon the Princess and attacked her. Prince Endymion saved her from the blow and Queen Beryl demanded that Prince Endymion became her King.
When the Prince refused, Metallia attacked him, sucking him into a tornado. Princess Serenity screamed and flung herself into the tornado with him. Just as they grasped hands, Metallia blasted them with an energy beam and they died.
Queen Serenity watched sadly as their two lifeless bodies floated upward in the tornado. As she wept, she whispered, "I won't let it end like this," and placed the Silver Imperium Crystal on her Crescent Moon Wand. Luna and Artemis, her faithful advisors, reminded her that if she used the crystal, she would sdie. But her mind could not be changed. She would sacrifice herself so that her daughter and the rest of her people could live.
Using the incredible power of the crystal, she sealed Queen Beryl and the Negaverse. She also sent Prince Endymion, Princess Serenity, the Sailor Soldiers, and the people of the Moon Kingdom one thousand years into the future to be reborn on Earth. As she was dying, she told Luna and Artemis that the Princess and the others would have no memory whatsoever of this time and that there was a chance that the Negaverse could possibly be free again. If that were to ever happen, Luna and Artemis must find the Princess and the Soldiers to awaken them.
With her finale breath, she whispered to her people, "On behalf of the moon, you will be free. Maybe we'll meet again, someday," and she died. The Wand fell from her limp hand and transported Luna and Artemis away with the others to the future.
