What was once the next evolutionary step of mankind has become a curse. Random people that had no talents before are suddenly appearing at the Olympics and shattering old records. But what is causing this sudden outbreak of "Super Humans"?

Two years later, many of them have fallen deathly ill with the disease dubbed "Moira". The mysterious Joe Carol informs Black Jack that he is the only one who can save these people. At first he refuses, but Joe Carol has taken Pinoko hostage, so he is forced to agree. I don't want to ruin anything, but slowly Black Jack unravels the secret behind Joe Carol and the Moira Syndrome.

Clinical Chart 1: Iceburgs: Man with Kimaira

Kimaira: When you contract this disease, you suffer intense (and painful) spasms, and you can have it for up to ten years before you finally die! The only thing that can dull the pain is water. When the rich owner of a small european island is afflicted, Black Jack is hired for a fee of three million dollars. I love this episode, he takes a shower in it! Well, anyway, with the help of a young thief and another scientist, Black Jack figures out a way to see what this thing really is. He must perform an operation on a patient while he is having a spasm. Meanwhile, some townspeople have contracted the disease, and they are angry that the rich dude is drinking all of the good water. What they don't know is that the rich guy has agreed to have the operation performed on him-so Black Jack can find a cure and help them. Well, being the general public (idiots) they try to burn down the castle while BJ is operating. Needless to say, BJ solves the mystery of Kimaira, while the castle burns to the ground. "Won't they ever learn!"
