OK everyone.  This is a song fic.  This is the very first one that I have done so I don’t really know if you will like it.  After you read it send me your comments at neomagus15@aol.com.  This is just a little break from "the black wind"....and speaking of break I broke my hand.  : )    Sorry it took me so long to get this out but now you know why.  You can’t do a whole lot of typing with a broken hand.  I would like to dedicate this fic to Lily.  I was having a personal problem and lily helped me put a lot.  I’m not gonna get into the details.  but lily, thanks.  You are the best friend I could ever ask for or hope to gain.  And without further a due.....the song fic

    A typical day in Readington......Sakura rushed into the school at the very last minute, and took her seat just as the bell rang.  Miss Mackenzie took her spot at the front of the class.

    "Good morning class, today we’re going to get away from the books.  Were going to go outside for a nice little hike in the forest.  I will put you in groups of two.  We will be using the buddy system so that nobody gets lost.  Pair number one Nikki and Rita.  Pair number two is...."

    Sakura waited for her name to be called she glanced at Li.  Her heart melted.  She would do anything to be Li’s love.  Sakura loved Li with all of her heart but for some reason she didn’t think Li felt the same.   She noticed his glances at her and the look in his eyes, but she just could bring herself to tell Li how she felt.

    Li glanced back her while she was still staring at him.  Their eyes meet and for those few seconds it was bliss, for both participants of the gaze.  Sakura saw something in his eyes.  She wasn’t sure what it was but she had looked into Li’s eyes enough times to know that it didn’t belong there.

    Li’s eyes started to water so he averted his gaze back to the teacher.  It was then that Sakura noticed that Li didn’t look very well.  He looked very tired and just as stressed.  Sakura was spell bound.  She tried to ponder what it was that had the boy who showed no emotions on the brink of tears.  Miss Mackenzie’s voice broke Sakura’s thoughts.

    "...And finally pair number 10 will be Sakura and Li."  Sakura put her face close to her desk to try to hide her mad blushing...but to no avail.

    "Sakura...this will give you and Li some time alone."  Sakura took her face from her desk and peered at Madison Smiling.  "This is just what you and Li need."  Madison nudged Sakura.  Madison had been trying to get Sakura and Li together for quite sometime now.  Once again her thought were scattered by the voice of miss Mackenzie.

    "OK class, now that everyone has there partners line up at the door next to them.  Then we will go to the forest and have our little hike."  The class cheered and ran to the door so that they may be off to the forest faster.

    Miss Mackenzie led the class to the waiting bus just outside of the school.  The class was shuffled onto the bus and once again instructed to stay with there partners.  The ride to the forest was a long and boring one. Sakura had nearly fallen asleep.

    Finally the bus arrived in a parking lot nearby the forest.  Miss Mackenzie stood up at the front of the bus to give the children instructions before she set them loose in the forest.

    "Ok class. for the last time stay with your partner.  Always keep track of the way you came.  If you should become lost just yell and me or one of the other students will come and help you get you bearings back.  Most importantly have fun!!! Now meet me back in this very parking lot at 2:30."  She smiled to the children and set them free of the bus.

    Sakura started walking with Li.  Now she was positive that something was wrong with him.  He hadn’t said anything the entire bus ride and still had not said a word to her yet the whole thirty minutes they had been in the forest.  She couldn’t put a finger on what it was, she wished with all her heart that she knew.

    Time passed and Li still had not said a word.  Sakura just couldn’t stand it anymore.  Curiosity got the best of her.  "Li, I am really worried about you.  You haven’t said a word to anyone all day and you don’t look like you normally do.  What’s wrong Li?  You can tell me." Sakura said in a very concerned voice.

    "Nothing Sakura, I just don’t really feel like talking to anyone right now.  Isn’t that ok?"  Li said back harshly.  Sakura could tell that he really didn’t want to let her know.  This made Sakura quite sad.

    "Li, please tell me what’s wrong.  You can tell me anything.  I promise, it will make you feel better.  All you have to do is open up to me."  Tears started to form in Sakura’s eyes when she spoke.

    "Last night I received a phone call from my mother."  A tear rolled down the boy’s cheek.  "She was crying hysterically, but I got her to calm down and speak to me."  Li sniffed and wiped at his eyes to ward away tears.

    "Last night my mother’s mother passed away.  My grandmother...she"
Sakura gasped and put her hand over her mouth.  "Li I’m so sorry.  If i would have known I wouldn’t have...Li...I...I"

    Li completely broke into tears.  No longer caring if anyone around saw him cry.  Sakura did the only thing she could think of...she pulled Li close and placed his head on her left shoulder as she listened to him weep.

    Sakura whispered consoling words in his ear, and ran her fingers through his hair.  She could feel her shirt getting wet from his tears when it hit her.  It was grief she had seen in Li’s eyes earlier today in the class room.

    Li started to recover from his crying and took a step back.  Sakura felt like she was about to start to weep as well.  She felt so bad for Li.  She couldn’t have her Li crying like that anymore.  So she closed her against the on coming tears and opened her mouth to sing.

    Sakura opened her eyes to the site of Li crying again.  But it was different this time.  they were tears of joy. Li pulled Sakura close and whispered in her ear.

 "I love you Sakura." Li said
 "I love you as well my little wolf." said Sakura

    Embarrassment aside now that their feelings for each other were expressed.  They passionately kissed.
