The Third Element

Sakura is in her room and has a decision to make. She picks up the phone and puts it down and picks it up and puts it down. It's annoying Kero and he asks why she's doing this. The winter carnival is fast approaching and she sort of wants to go with Li but he doesn't have enough nerve to ask him. Kero remedies this and punches the speed dial. "It's simple, just pick the phone up and press the button!" Sakura was caught off guard and found that Kero punched Julian's number instead and has to ask HIM to the winter Carnival. (She actually wanted to call him in the Japanese version.)

The next day, there was the winter carnival. There were all sorts of things to do there and Sakura was one to try them all. She went on the fast rides with Julian and he smiled. She went on the slow rides with him and he smiled, expression unchanged and they found Li and Meilin there. Sakura and Meilin walked behind Julian and Li and Meilin asked why she would ask Julian and you can see Julian, happy as ever and Li...who is walking like a rusty robot and wearing a rather dumbfounded look on his face. Amidst of the festivities, Sakura had a bad feeling about things and thought there might be a clow card about. Sakura asked Meilin if she's occupy Julian while she and Li would talk about this clow card.

They go to a restaurant and sit at a table for four. Tori happened to be working there and took their orders. They get there food and Julian goes into lunch mode. He eats at his usual hyper rate and it kind of spooks everyone. Meanwhile, Madison and Kero are spying on them in the bushes, hoping for a clow card discovery and they wait. Sakura and everyone else look up over the cables which glowed with a red fire. Julian asks if it's a gimmick and Tori tells them that it's really on fire. The fire bursts the cords into flame and the bushes and trees catch fire as well. Sakura and Li can sense the clow card fully now and run to where the clow card is which is in a semi secluded area of the festival.

They begin on capturing it. Li uses his pendant to summon his sword and uses the Time card to freeze time. Everything including the fire was halted. Sakura then uses the sleep card to put everyone around to sleep which also happened to be Madison as well. Kero commends them and flies to them, telling that this is not an ordinary clow card but one of the main Element cards. Sakura first tried to use the Windy card to attack with and that just made things worse. The wind spread the flames around them and Firey showed himself. (Hey! This clow card's a guy! One of the few guys that are clow cards.)

Firey attacks them by waving some fire onto them but Sakura's too quick. Sakura uses the water card as well and tries to Ally them. Li tells her that you can't ally two attack cards. Kero tells him that just because they aren't allies doesn't mean that they can't be now. (They can, Fire and Water are allies of Wind. Earth and Wind however are not allied. I found this on a site somewhere involving elemental forces.) Windy and Watery do work together and they overpower firey who faints.

Sakura seals it and looks at Kero and he's glowing! Kero tells her that he is ruled by the sun. Getting the Firey card gave him some power since fire is one of his special elements. That night was when the winter carnival was at its best. Julian, Li, Meilin and Sakura ride the Ferris Wheel together under the night Sky. Miss Mackenzie also watches as Kero flies high in the sky and uses his power to make it snow. It's actually very nice looking!

Todd Arcana's Rating:    4.3 / 5.0    ^_^

I really liked this episode. I liked the fact that although there wasn't too much info on Cardcaptors in it, it still had some action and a theme that kept me interested. I also liked the ending a lot, between the snowing and the song "Ordinary Girl" it was very nice to see! The only problem is that it had a lot cut from it and without the cuts, it would have been a fantastic episode!
