We open this episode on a chilly morning in Reidenton. There was no unfrozen water anyway. The whole town is an ice pond. Sakura and Madison are also walking to school commenting on how chilly it is. Madison tells Sakura that tomorrow is the day that they are going to Ice Pond Palace as a field trip. Sakura attempts to skate on the ice on her rollerblades when she falls on her fanny. Madison helps her up and comments that was a definite perfect landing and Sakura looks around to find that no one saw her and was relieved. They start their walk to school and the crack Sakura made shined almost in an ominous way.

    That night, Sakura has the dream again. She's up on the radio tower and she sees the figure in shadow and comments on the eyes. The alarm clock brings her to reality and she talks about it with Kero. Sakura runs out the door, realizing she's going to be late and runs out the house. While Sakura is leaving, Kero comments that she should be careful. And that it could be Yue that's watching and he warns her about it.

    Terrada gets things ready for the trip and they set out on it. Li and Meilin have dressed in a lovely 6 layers to help them cope with the cold. Nikki and Chelsea comment to themselves that they come from China so they must never see snow or temperatures this low.

    They finally made it to the rink and they all skate...badly. Everyone's falling down, including Sakura and Li. Li has come to the conclusion that he hates skating. Lunchtime! Sakura takes a fantastic lunch with her and Madison comments on how huge it is. (In the japanese episodes, the lunch that they're talking about is actually Madison's!)

    Meilin isn't even on the ice yet. She's still too cold to do anything Mr Terrada picks up on that and tells Meilin that she'll be a lot warmer if she skated and Meilin tells him that there is no ice where she comes from and she tells that she wants to go home.(I felt really sorry for Meilin)  Mr Terrada feels sorry for her and finds that it really IS cold. He asks the ladies working there that it's cold and he wants them to turn the heat up. They sadly tell him that the furnace must be busted.

    Miss Mackenzie teaches some of the students how to skate and Li comments that if SHE can do it then HE can do it and he falls on his butt again. Meilin comes up to him and complains that it's too cold. It's getting colder and people are starting to notice that it's cold. They get so cold that they can hardly move and the temperature drops on the thermometer accordingly to about -10 to -15 in F which is very cold indeed. Melin complains again that she can't feel her legs and Li goes for help and when he leaves, she comments that she feels sleepy.

    The girls and others in the class complain to the girls working there and they can't help them. Li returns to Meilin and tells her that she'll have to move but she can't Li attempts to carry her when Meilin falls drowsy. Li tells her not to fall asleep or she'll catch phenomena and notices bright unnatural ice to appear under her and she freezes right in front of him. Mr Terrada freezes too when he tells Sakura and Li to get off of the ice. More students freeze but Miss Mackenzie stays the same. She ducks and covers.

    Sakura tells Li that she senses a clow card and he does too. They get surrounded by ice and find that the freeze card is behind this. Freeze attacks them and Sakura uses the jump card to get away but gets knocked out. Li rushes to her but freeze blocks her. Freeze attempts to ice Sakura and freezes the Sealing wand. Li attempts to wake Sakura up and he does. Li tells her that he'll distract freeze while she seals it. Li does and finds that Freeze is a LARGE spirit. Sakura brakes the ice off of her sealing wand and Li gets freeze into position. When he does, Sakura seals it and the card goes to Li. During the whole time, Miss Mackenzie was watching them...could she be the judge?

    The temperature returns to normal and Meilin has something new to complain about. "IT'S TOO HOT!" Everyone gets back on the ice and Li and Sakura talk about how the Freeze card taught them to Skate. Li's reply was "Yeah, talk about learning under pressure!" Nobody remembers anything about the freezing and Meilin skates up to Li. Now Meilin thinks skating is fun so she signed them both up for lessons. Li tells her that she doesn't need lessons and falls flat on his butt. Sakura skates off and tells him that he's just getting warmed up.

    This episode was pretty cool. (No pun intended) I thought this was the greatest card battle episode there was. It had lots of action and I like action. The only thing is that they should have edited out that last bit with Sakura skating and saying "He's just getting warmed up." I actually thought it was a dumb ending and would have been a lot better just with Li falling on his back.
