Buyer Beware

We open the episode with Sakura and her Dad in the kitchen. Aiden's making dumplings and is teaching Sakura how to do it. Sakura doesn't test the heat and almost gets burned. Aiden tells her that she should test the heat before she jumps right in. Aiden makes the dumplings and Tori comes home and bugs Sakura. He eats the dumplings and say that they're good but bugs Sakura when he finds out she didn't make them. She gets mad and stomps on his foot.

At school, Sakura listens to Nikki talk about how they shouldn't make bookworms like her do gym and that she isn't ready for the box vault. At the vault, Sakura makes the jump and so does Meilin. Meilin comments that she could do it in her sleep. They all watch Nikki jump and she makes it! Nikki had apparently made a wish on the jump card. Sakura blinks and asks about the card and her classmates show her some. Sakura and Madison talk about these wishing cards and Sakura says that there's only one jump card and they go into flashback on how they caught it. Sakura asks Nikki where she got the card and learn that the cards came from the Twin Bells, Maggie's store but before they go there, Sakura talks to Kero.

Sakura goes home and tells Kero about it and Kero replies that it sounds like her classmates got suckered out of their allowance. Sakura tells that everyone believes the cards actually work because Nikki made the jump with the wish from the jump card. Sakura then tells that it's too bad that they don't work for she needs help making dumplings. Sakura then sets out to go to the Twin Bells to find out herself.

The go to Twin Bells and they see Meilin leaves as they enter. They talk to Maggie and she tells that she got them from some unknown company. She almost sent them back but they became a huge success. Sakura looks at the rack and senses a clow card. She finds the spot where it was and asks Maggie where the card went and she tells that it was sold to one of her class. It could have been Chelsea or Nikki. She asked which card and Maggie tells that it's the Shot card.

Sakura and Madison ran out and Sakura summoned the sealing wand. She used the fly card to find the kids who could have bought it and called Kero on the telephone and interrupts Kero's game. Sakura tells that there's a clow card about and Kero asks which one and she tells that it's the shot card. Kero tells that whoever says the shot card's name becomes its target!!

Sakura tells Madison about it and she gets frightened. They find Nikki and she tells that she has these cards but not a Shot card. Sakura finds Chelsea and she doesn't have it either. They fly back to the Twin Bells and ask who else was around it and Maggie replies that Meilin was hanging around but isn't really interested in it. Sakura leaves to find Meilin at the school. She finds Li on the way and tells Li about it and he comes too.

Meilin has the shot card. She bought it because it looks convincing. Sakura confronts her and tells that its the real deal. Meilin smiles and says. "I knew it! I can capture clow cards too!" Li approaches her and tells her that its a really dangerous card. Meilin won't give it up and Li tries to take it from her and she accidentily activates it. Shot aquires Li as the target and begins blasting beams at him. They get more accurate and Sakura uses the Shield card to protect him. Li runs out of the shield in hopes of distracting shot so Sakura could catch it. Sakura gets a brainstorm and uses the Mirror card to form a reflection of Li in a mirror. Shot shoots the mirror and the beam bounces back and hits it. Shot is then sealed by Sakura and the card goes to Li.

Meilin tends to him and everyone leaves after a day of good work. Sakura goes home and tries her hand again at making dumplings. She heat tests and she cooks a good one. Kero eats one and said that it wasn't the magic cards that helped Nikki jump, it was her ability to believe in herself. He also said that that the dumplings she made are delicious.

Todd's Final Thoughts

Todd Arcana's Rating:    3.9 / 5.0   ^.^

This was a nice episode but it wasn't that special. It didn't have very much to it and even that's all right. Dumplings...I don't think you can really call those dumplings. They look more like potatoe slices boiled in oil, they'd be like french fry wedges. Even though they really weren't dumplings, they'd probably still taste good.
