No Way Out

Sakura was late for dinner and she skated home. She lost her balance and almost fell on her face when a woman grabs her and catches her. Sakura was embarrassed but happy that she caught her. The woman smiled and said that she would see her in school tomorrow. Sakura is baffled but she shrugs.

Tomorrow becomes today and Sakura goes to school. She along with everyone else in the class notice that Mr. Terrada's out and there's a sub in for the day. The sub walks in and it's the woman Sakura met from before. She introduces herself as Miss. Mackenzie and she'll teach for the next while.

At Lunch, Sakura, Madison, Meilin and Li talk about Miss. Mackenzie and how Sakura should watch out for her. Miss Mackenzie overhears and tells them how they do in math and that they shouldn't have to watch out for her. Also at school, Nikki talks about amulets that bring luck and they're sold at the garden and Sakura gets very interested.

Sakura and Madison decide to go to the garden to buy some amulets of luck and bump into Li and Meilin which she's practically forcing Li to buy an amulet. Sakura rushes to meet them and she tells how she senses something odd and they hear a bell chime. Now reality gets distorted and the surroundings warp around them and they get forced into a maze of green walls.

Sakura and Li find that it's the maze card and Li tells that in order to seal the card, they'll have to solve the maze. Meilin complains and everyone's patience is wearing thin. Madison thinks of a strategy where you touch the wall and run a path while touching until you find the opening. It didn't work. Sakura tried to fly over the walls using the fly card but the maze countered by raising the walls. Meilin lost more patience and kicked the wall. Sakura got an idea from that and used the sword card to cut a hole in the wall but it grew back. (Sakura and everyone should have ran through the gap while they had the chance!)

The Maze got mad and shifted the dimensions and Madison got trapped on a high part. Li used the wind element ofuda to bring her down. NOW the maze turned into a labyrinth which warped the time space and Meilin was separated from them. "Help me Li, I'm SIDEWAYS!!" They attempted to get to her back by getting to her but she left when they came back.

Tori was getting worried that Sakura wasn't home yet and it was getting dark. He set out on his bike to go fetch her. Meilin came back to them with the help of Miss Mackenzie helped her out. Miss Mackenzie walks up, she's carrying a strange bell which has magical powers. She touched the bell to a wall and the wall broke into a million pieces and so did the one behind it and on and on. They left the maze and the maze goes ballistic again. Sakura tells Miss Mackenzie to "Avert my gaze?" Sakura seals the card and it flies to her!

Miss Mackenzie gives the card to her and smiles. The shop is now closed so they couldn't buy amulets but Miss. Mackenzie hands Sakura and Meilin an amulet. Madison gets a drive home by her body guards and Tori pulls up, he's upset at Sakura but Miss Mackenzie vouches not to be mad. She walks away and...vanishes. Tori gives her an odd look and takes Sakura home.

Todd's Amazeing thoughts

Todd Arcana's Rating:    4.0 / 5.0   ^_^

Not much to this episode except for the fact that there's a new character included in the anime. I thought the episode was a little boring...but it wasn't the worst episode I've ever seen. The amulets however...were supposed to be love amulets not luck amulets and that garden is a temple that's not uncommon in Tokyo.
