why. but seriously now, as mentioned in why? one of the reasons i like the character doggett is because he's the sterotypical government agent (one of many, at least) well, it's better i say that he's the sterotypical good g-man. since both old smokey and the AD-with-the-rod-up-his-ass also fall into the category of a stock character. x-files has always been about tyring to break out of sterotypes (as scully was not put in the tradition role of the 'believer') so when a semi-stock character is introduced, it's not as tacky and unoriginal as it should be. it's actually interesting, and almost 'original'. .back.
