was USAGI TSUKINO as Sailormoon. Usagi was accompanied by her best friends
in protecting Earth from evil. But, Naoko already had in mind to make the
main theme in the manga as love. And what would love be without a lover?...

by Naoko as the leading male character, Mamoru was an instant hit especially
with teenage girls. Extremely handsome for a comic drawing, Naoko injected
life into Mamoru, making him a strong character for Usagi to rely on. The
whole SAILORMOON saga basically revolved around him and Usagi: their love,
their loyalty, their passion, and the pure power derived from those feelings.
They
were soul-mates, lovers for eternity, and NOTHING could separate them.
