After landing in a park near Gayle's house, she and Luke Skywalker made their way to Gayle's house to explain where she had been for the past two months. As Gayle lead him down the street, Skywalker started up a conversation, "You know, I'm still not too happy about cutting your training short like this. What if something goes wrong?"
Gayle rolled her eyes, "I'm not cutting it short. I've got a communicator so I can get lessons, and I'll still be able to practice and everything. Besides, you'll be here in three months and any questions I have you'll be able to answer. I've always been able to learn better myself anyways. What could possibly go wrong?"
"That's what I thought when I cut short my own-"
"Oh please," Gayle snorted, "you're not still kicking yourself for that are you?"
Luke sighed, "It was probably the biggest mistake of my life," he told her, "I should still be kicking myself over it."
Gayle smiled, "And look where it got you. Sure you're minus a real hand and you don't have full knowledge of the Force. You're learning with the rest of us, and that makes for easier communication with your students. Not to mention the fact that had you stayed with Yoda and completed your training, Han would still be in Jabba' s palace, Leia would have died on Vader's ship when he realized that she didn't know your location. The second Death Star would have been completed and you would have been hunted down and killed."
"Now first of all, Leia escaped herself," Luke pointed out, "and secondly, I had nothing to do with the destruction of the second Death Star."
"No, you just released the good inside your father, saved
him from the Dark Side and got him to kill the Emperor, therefore confusing the
ranks of the Imperial soldiers because they got their coordination through his
use of the Force, Thrawn pointed that one out," Gayle shot back, "and Vader was
pretty single minded, he knew he had you, therefore the rest of them were
inconsequential. But if you hadn't shown up, he would have gone with them
himself. Also, it was Artoo who finally got them onto the landing pad because
the Imperials had changed the security codes. Maybe the Death Star would have
been destroyed, but Vader and the Emperor would have still been alive, and if
you had time to drag Vader to a shuttle, then they sure would have had gotten
off the ship. They would have continued to hunt down the Rebellion, the Empire
would have survived and crushed the Rebels, along with you once you finally got
away from Degobah. In the meantime, Wedge, Leia, Han, Ackbar and everyone else
are dead."
Luke shook his head, "Do you always think about stuff like
that?"
Gayle stopped and motioned for Luke to do so as well when Gayle's family van rounded the corner and backed into the driveway. Gayle watched as her mother and younger sister stepped out of the car and went into the house with bags of stuff.
Gayle and Luke walked up to her house, and as she was fishing her house key out of her pocket, Gayle gave him a few last minute instructions, "Keep your hood up, I want to tell first, then show when they don't believe me, okay?" Skywalker nodded and Gayle opened her door. "Heya!"
"Who's there?" her mother called from the living room in response to Gayle's entrance.
"It's me, Gayle!" she replied. Her mother came around to the front hallway.
"Who's that, and aren't you in your room?" she stared at Gayle. Gayle raised her eyebrow and then went to her room, Skywalker standing in the front hallway shifting from one foot to the other in an embarrassed manner.
Gayle returned minus her bag of stuff and towing her droid replacement, just then, Robin came out of the kitchen with a snack, and stopped in her tracks. Robin was taller than her sister, and with less freckles but with the same colour hair. The family resemblance was unmistakable.
"Robin, go get Marlene and Dad, I've got something to tell everyone," Robin sped off at Gayle's instructions, probably the first time in her life she'd ever done anything her sister had asked right away. Gayle led her droid self and the Jedi Master into her living room, trailed by her confused mother.
Gayle and Skywalker sat on the stone step of the fireplace as Gayle's father, and two sisters came and sat down. Marlene, Gayle's older sister resembled her mother more that her sisters with large brown eyes and a round face, "Okay everyone, get comfortable, this is going to take a while."
Robin spoke up as she sat down in the computer chair to Gayle's left, "Which one is the real Gayle?"
"She is," said Gayle's droid, just as Gayle stood and said, "I am."
"Robin nodded as Gayle turned to her mother, "Mom, do you remember the last day of school?" Gayle's mother nodded, "What was I doing?"
"You were over at Julia's along with Leanne," she replied.
Gayle nodded, "Right. After we dumped our stuff at Julia's house, we all went down to the park near her house, and that's when we ran into him," Gayle nodded at the Jedi Master and he took the cue to remove his hood and stand along side his student, "Everyone, meet the Jedi Master Luke Skywalker."
Robin wheeled the chair over and patted Gayle on the shoulder a couple of times, "There, there," she said, mimicking Reverend Lovejoy from one of The Simpsons episodes, "There, there."
Gayle's mother looked at Master Skywalker, but addressed Gayle, "Gayle, may I speak to you for a minute please?" she followed her mother into the kitchen. Her mother looked her in the eyes, "Gayle, where have you been, and tell me the truth!"
Gayle sighed, "Mom, I am telling the truth, Pathfinder's honour. I have been on Yavin 4 for the passed two months. Master Skywalker brought me, Julia and Leanne there so we could train to become Jedi Knights."
Gayle's mother took her shoulder's and started to shake them, Gayle put her arms up in automatic defense and pulled away, "Gayle stop this! Who is that man?"
"I told you! Luke Skywalker!" her mother still didn't believe Gayle, and was thinking of calling the Royal Ottawa Hospital, or at least the psyche-ward at the children's hospital, "Look, if I was lying, or had gone crazy, would I be able to do this?" Gayle closed her eyes and reached out through the Force. She slowly levitated a chair into the air, and at her mother's gasp, she put it back down, "Convinced?"
Gayle's mom simply nodded, too stunned for words. They went back to the living room where Gayle's father was questioning Skywalker. As Gayle walked in, Robin turned to her, "If you're Gayle, then who's that?" she asked, pointing to the droid.
Gayle smiled, "State of the art, human replica droid. Designed to simulate personalities using DNA analysis," Gayle reached around to the back of the droid's neck and switched it off, "pretty neat huh?" she asked as the droid slumped to the floor.
"Mrs. Keeley, Mr. Keeley," Skywalker spoke up, "with your permission, I would like to be able to continue training Gayle, over holidays and summers, so that her Force powers do not go to waste, nor turn to evil."
Robin rolled her eyes, "Gayle doesn't have an evil bone in her body!"

Callista banged her wrench on the hull of the skiff in frustration. After she was finished the work on this last skiff, she'd have enough credits to go off planet and continue her quest, but she was having trouble finishing up. <Focus on the work!> she admonished herself, <Just focus on what you have to do!> Then Luke's face played across her mind. The same expression as in her recurring dream.
He was welcoming her back, arms wide open, smile on his face. Callista tried to run to him, but a white gloved hand held her back. She broke free of the hand and a silver, spiraled horn barred her way. It let off an explosion of silvery light.
That was when Callista always woke up. It seemed more a vision than a normal dream, like what she'd used to have when she was in contact with the Force. Who did the hand belong to? And what was the silver horn?

As Julia stepped into the Grand Audience Chamber for the morning's lecture and readied her tape recorder. She had taken to carrying around a small backpack filled with a camera, a tape recorder, batteries, and her puffer. She never needed it, she had hardly needed it on Earth before her Jedi training had started fixing her the imperfections in her health. Today that back also contained a letter that someone had slipped underneath her doorway. She hadn't had a chance to read it because she was running a little late and needed a good seat for the lecture so she could tape it for Gayle.
Walking through the chamber to a find a seat up front, Julia noticed the buzz in the air. All the girls were gossiping amongst themselves, and all the guys were chatting unhappily. Julia perked up her ears so she could hear snippets of the conversation as she went by, "You got the letter too?" one girl was asking her friends.
"What a pig! Inviting the entire female population of the Academy!" came from another group.
"How many girls do you think are going to go?" one guy was asking his friends.
"Are you kidding? It's Tuxedo Kamen!"
Julia raised her eyebrow, but continued walking, since she saw a seat up front reserved for her by Leanne. Julia turned to her friend, "What's going on?" she asked.
Leanne's eyebrows raised in surprize, "you didn't get a letter?" she inquired. Julia furrowed her brow, then remembered the letter in her backpack and pulled it out.
A week from today, I'll be at the Blueleaf Cluster Temple after sunset.
I cannot wait to see you my only love.
Tuxedo Kamen
Julia's eyes went wide, and she stuffed the note into her bag. "You mean he sent one of those to every girl in the entire Jedi Academy!?" Julia demanded to Leanne.
"Actually, only the ones who have been here under a year," Leanne informed her friend, "that's still plenty."
"At least we got through September uneventfully," Julia sighed.
"Huh?" Leanne raised an eyebrow.
"Never mind," Julia shook her head, "I had just thought that the weird things had stopped. You know? The Sailor Warriors were quiet all last month. The first of the month rolls around and boom... this letter comes."
"Right," Leanne nodded, "don't worry, I don't think that many people are going to go. They're all too insulted that Tuxedo Kamen called over a hundred girls his `only love`."

Gayle got to her school in the morning and ran to her homeroom lest she be late. She got in the door just as Oh Canada started playing. After the national anthem, she took a seat beside her friends Beira and tall, dark skinned, dark haired beauty from Cuba and Suzanne, who was Gayle's height, blonde and much stronger than she looked.
"Hey, what's up?" Gayle asked, then she looked around and noticed several people missing in the class. Around four more than yesterday, now they were down to a half a class.
"Did you hear?" Beira replied, her accent heavy, "The sixteen going to Alta Vista disappeared last night, and the night before!"
Gayle blinked away the danger sense that started acting up as Beira told her this new information, "Disappeared? How? Where?"
"As the 16 turns down Churchill, the bus drives straight at one of the apartment buildings and disappears into a void of nothingness!"
Suzanne rolled her eyes skeptically, "Oh come ON! you can seriously believe that shit!" The PA system then sent out a loud feedback squeal that made most of the class jump.
"NAAAAAAVAAAAAAG!" one person in the class cajoled. NAVAG was the Nepean Audio-Visual Group in charge of all the equipment. Unfortunately for them, they had little to work with, and most of that broke during use. Whenever something technical went wrong, you were bound to hear the name.
The principal's voice came on the PA system, "Sorry for the PA troubles everyone, as some of you know the number sixteen bus bound for Alta Vista at six o'clock has been disappearing the past two nights. The police and this school are asking everyone who is taking that bus to proceed with extreme caution, or take a different bus. Now, here are your morning announcements."
Going home that day, Gayle got on the 174 bus that went near her house and noticed a familiar face, "Hey Chrisy! What are you doing here?" Gayle sat down beside the slender girl with thick, short, brown hair and brown eyes.
"Didn't Julia tell you?" she asked, "I just moved back into Ottawa. There was something wrong with the house we moved into, my parents got their money back, and decided to move back here, since Carleton Place is far more dangerous than Ottawa ever could be. It's just plain evil."
~**~**~**~**~
"Just a little ambitious, isn't he," Gayle commented with a raised eyebrow after Julia had finished explaining about the note Tuxedo Kamen had given out. Julia chuckled.
"Well, let's just say he'd better be eating oysters all week," she said dryly, "So what's new on your end?"
Gayle sighed, the day's lecture and all this Sailor Warriors talk was really eating into her homework time, "Busses are disappearing," she answered, "and Chrisy moved back into Ottawa."
"Really?" Julia asked enthusiastically, "too cool!"
"Busses disappearing?!" Gayle exclaimed incredulous.
"No! Chrisy!" Julia corrected, "The busses comes as no surprise, they don't have the most reliable service."
"Either way, Luna thinks I should check it out," Gayle told her friend.
"Sounds good," Julia replied, "hey, gives ya something to do."
"If I need something to do I've got plenty of homework," Gayle rolled her eyes.
"Yeeks, Don't teachers realize that you've better things to do?! A solider of peace and justice shouldn't get homework."
"Tell me about it," Gayle sighed, "Anyway, I've got to go, I'll talk to you tomorrow."
"See ya!"

Julia turned off the communicator just as the door chime rang, indicating someone's presence on the other side of her door, "Come in," she told them.
"JULES!" Jaina dashed into Julia's room, shoulder length brown hair whipping about her face and brow eyes sparkling with excitement. She grabbed Julia's wrist and pulled the blond girl out of her room and down the corridor to the turbolift, "You'llneverguesswhatjustarrivedit'ssoamazingcomeonyou'vegottoseethis!!!!!"
"Jaina!" Julia pulled her wrist free when they were in the turbolift, "Breath! Use punctuation!"
"Oh, sorry," Jaina grinned like an idiot, "I'm just a little excited."
"I can see that," Julia grinned back. The turbolift doors swung open and Julia let herself be towed to the Docking Bay.
Once they arrived at the docking bay, Julia's jaw dropped. Sitting in the hanger were over a dozen X-Wings. Jaina ran over to the closest and ran her hand along the underside of the wing.
"X..."Julia trailed off, to stunned to say anymore.
"Not just X-Wings," Jaina corrected, "They're XJ class! The newest model, they're still technically in the experimental stage! This is so NEAT!"
Julia's astonishment disappeared to be replaced with a look of unimpressed skepticism, "So we're test pilots," she said flatly.
"Don't worry Julia, you know that Leia would never send them to us if she didn't know they were one hundred per cent safe," came Luke Skywalker's voice from behind her. Julia turned around to see the Jedi Master standing a few paces behind her. She then glanced around the hanger to see who else she hadn't seen and noted Jacen, Lowie, Tenel Ka and a few other trainees.
"Yeah, Mom would know I would insist on flying them," Jaina added, "so she'd make sure it would be as safe as possible."
"But how did we get these?" Julia asked Luke. She glanced around at the ships, lips moving silently as she counted, "Fifteen of the newest X-Wings couldn't be easy to come by."
"No, they weren't," Luke nodded, "and you are right about being test pilots. As Jedi, we will be able to sense if something is about to go wrong, and hopefully be able to get out of the craft or fix the problem before it becomes critical. They are also a part of Yavin 4's defense, adding to the planetary shield. Thirdly, the X-Wings will become a part of your training. In flying and maintaining them, students will gain a few life skills, and by flying them in a group, you will be able to experience flying linked with one another. Something that will make up an all but invincible X-Wing Squadron."
"Does the New Republic government know about that last point Master Skywalker?" Jacen asked with a half grin and a raised eyebrow that showed quite a resemblance to his father.
"Leia and I thought it prudent not to advertise the fact that fifteen un-approved war ships were being sent out here," Luke replied. Julia grinned.
"So who's gonna show me the ropes?" she asked rubbing her hands together eagerly. Jaina grinned back.
"This way, we'll get you a pair of coveralls," Jaina motioned with a hand and the two girls jogged off together. Jacen and Luke exchanged glances, looked over at Jaina and Julia.
"Uncle Luke," Jacen started, "you've just created a monster."
"You'll warn me next time your mother's coming for a visit, right?"

The next day, Gayle had a late cheerleading practice so she ended up leaving the school just before six. Instead of taking the 16 to Carlingwood, at Luna's insistence, she boarded the 16 Alta Vista. Sitting on the packed bus was Chrisy.
"Chrisy! What are you doing here?!" Gayle asked, a bit unnerved that one of her friends was taking this bus.
"Well, you know what's going on," Chrisy rolled her eyes, "It's just spooky enough to be worth checking out."
"Right," Gayle nodded. Then they were there, the bus, instead of turning, continued straight as an odd void appeared.
"Is this a good thing or a bad thing?" Chrisy asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, at least we're not going to run into any houses," Gayle tried unsuccessfully to be positive. The bus, and everyone in it, was then swallowed by the ominous void.
On the other side of the portal, the three other busses that had disappeared rested on the gray ground. The land was barren and the sky was simply navy blue. No stars shone; no sun was apparent.
"Looks like it's time for action," Gayle pulled out her locket. Chrisy took one look at it, and being the obsessed Sailor Moon fan that she was, snatched it out of Gayle's hands and moved to a safe distance. Gayle's eyes widened and she stood. "Chrisy! Give that back! We'll be stuck here forever!"
Chrisy giggled and backed away from Gayle, heading towards the front of the bus. The driver sneered, grabbed Chrisy and jumped out the open door into the limbo surrounding them.
"Gayle," Luna's head popped out of Gayle's book-bag, "you have to go after them!"
"You think I don't know that!?" Gayle yelled back, grabbing the bag and heading to the door. She looked out at the plummeting monster holding Chrisy, and the ground far beneath them and her legs got weak, "Oh god, I hate heights!"
"Transform!" Luna ordered.
"Don't you think I would have already?" Gayle asked, "Chrisy has my locket!"
"What!?" Luna demanded.
"Here goes nothing," Gayle took a deep, calming breath, and jumped. Using the Force, she controlled her descent, slowing her fall and then landing a few meters from the enemy.
"Let her go!" Gayle ordered.
The monster laughed, "And who's going to make me?"
A glowing blue symbol appeared on Chrisy's forehead. It was the symbol for Mercury, "I am!" she announced. Then she held Gayle's locket aloft, "Moon prism power!"
The monster released Chrisy as the white light of the transformation locket enveloped her. "This 'll never work," Gayle muttered skeptically to herself. The light cleared with an slightly odd giggle. Chrisy now had blue hair bound in Sailor Moon's meatball style, save there wasn't enough hair for pigtails. Instead, Chrisy had little blue tufts. Her uniform was pretty much the same as Sailor Moon's, except she had a light blue bow in the back, instead of red, and the bands along the tops of her boots were light blue as well. Gayle and Luna stared in disbelief as Chrisy giggled again.
"It worked!" Chrisy giggled in a not so-lucid sounding way. "I'm Sailor Moon!" she giggled, then turned to the monster, who backed away a step. "I sand for love and justice! The sailor suited beautiful girl soldier SAILOR MOON! In the name of the moon, I will punish you!"
The monster looked a little incredulous, "You're not Sailor Moon!" it said, shakily.
"Wanna bet?" Chrisy grinned, giggled, then removed the tiara from her forehead, "Shabon Tiara Action!"
"Shabon tiara?" Gayle asked, eyebrow raised.
"She still has the energy of Sailor Mercury in her," Luna replied. "That's how come the attack has changed."
Chrisy's tiara hit the monster and disintegrated it. Gayle smiled and cautiously approached her friend, "Alright, the monster's gone, now give back the locket," she said soothingly.
"Never!" Chrisy started to run, and ran straight into Tuxedo Kamen. Chrisy giggled and started hanging off of him, "Tuxedo! You've come to rescue me from this hellhole!" Tuxedo Kamen looked about as surprised as he could with his eyes masked.
"Sailor Moon?" he asked.
"That's me!" Chrisy started to giggle again.
Gayle rolled her eyes. "Let's just get out of here!" she sighed. She then turned to Luna and whispered, "Not too bright, is he?"
Tuxedo Kamen, Gayle and Chrisy quickly hitched the busses together and Tuxedo drove them all out of the void though the closing gap to safety.
~**~**~**~**~
"So, who do you think is going to go to Tuxedo Kamen's rendezvous?" Jaina inquired as she, her twin brother Jacen, and her friends Tenel Ka, Lowbacca and Julia sat around the lunch table eating. Zekk was there too. Jaina was never too sure what to consider him, there was friend of course, but, he was something else to her as well. Whatever he was considered, lunch with him was a lot quieter with Gayle not around.
Her question had been mostly directed at Julia and Tenel Ka, but as she sparked Tenel Ka's interest, she sparked her brother's as well.
"I'm curious as to who really set up the meeting," Julia announced, "I mean, Tuxedo Kamen doesn't seem like the type to fool around."
"Yes," Tenel Ka agreed swiftly. A bit too swiftly for Jacen's tastes. Had he not known better, he could have sword that Tenel Ka had become moon-eyed, "he has a very valiant character."
Jacen reacted immediately, "are you kidding? An outfit like that screams Player."
Julia and Jaina exchanged knowing glances as Jacen continued to dash Tuxedo Kamen in an effort to change Tenel Ka's opinion.
"I agree with Jacen," Zekk spoke up, "A man in a mask should not be trusted."
Julia snorted and smiled sarcastically, "well, we're about to find out, aren't we."
Walking down the hall after afternoon training, Julia found herself and Artemis facing Luke Skywalker, "You aren't going to go are you?"
"I've heard this before," Julia rolled her eyes and stepped passed the Jedi Master. She had an infinite amount of respect for him, but a finite amount of patients and a finite amount of time before half the Jedi Academy was supposedly to meet with Tuxedo Kamen. The two continued walking to her room, where Julia would transform and then go to meet the challenge set before her.
"It's probably a trap."
"Yes, to gather energy," Julia nodded, "That's why I have to go. If Sailor Venus isn't there to stop this prankster, every nega-slime is going to think they can just show up and take all the energy they want. I have to make sure that this doesn't go any farther than a small scuffle."
"With all those people there-"
"We'll be going an hour early," Artemis interrupted Luke. He hadn't grown up with stories of the heroic Jedi Master and found it a bit easier to interrupt him.
"The point is, you really can't stop me from going," Julia sighed, "and if you try, then quite a few people will lose a lot of energy, and the Negamoon will gain a great advantage."
Skywalker sighed in what couldn't have been frustration because Jedi Masters are always calm, "May the Force be with you," he replied. Julia smiled gratefully and continued on to her room. She got there and pulled out her transformation wand.
"Turn around Artemis," she warned him playfully, "Venus Power!"
Sailor Venus then jumped out the window, slid down the side of the Great Temple and dashed off towards the Blueleaf Cluster Temple.
The sun was big and red, halfway hidden behind the horizon when Sailor Venus arrived at her destination, and she knew immediately that there was trouble. Even without her Force senses, she could feel the Negamoon energy surrounding the temple. With her Force senses, she could feel the presence of more than one person in the Temple. Two familiar conciousnesses appeared like a streetlights at night.
"Crap on a crutch," she muttered, then dashed into the temple. Venus quickly caught up to Jacen, who was watching Tenel Ka approaching Tuxedo Kamen. Venus squinted at the man Tenel Ka was currently confessing her feelings to, he didn't seem right. His hair was long and red, his demeanor all wrong. He also had a nasty aura of evil surrounding him.
"I know you're Sailor Moon, reveal yourself!" he shouted. Venus' eyes went wide. The fake Tuxedo Kamen shot dark energy at Tenel Ka. Her warrior's instinct cut in and she barely dodged, getting clipped on her bad arm.
"What? Tuxedo Kamen!" Tenel Ka cried. Venus winced at the pain in Tenel Ka's voice. Pain that wasn't there because of any physical wound. "You are a hero! You save people in the nick of time."
"Do you think I'm stupid Sailor-girl? Reveal your secret identity now or die!" The fake replied, he raised his hand to attack her again, and Jacen came running out of the shadows. Tenel Ka brought up her lightsaber to parry the energy, but it was useless, and this time she was hit full force. Tenel Ka went flying across the hall, and Jacen caught her. Dazed, she looked up at him.
"Jacen?" she asked weakly.
"To get to her you have to go through me!" he yelled bravely, standing in front of Tenel Ka, lightsaber in a defensive position.
The fake Tuxedo Kamen laughed, "This is too easy," he stated, and raised his hand. He shot energy at Jacen, and Venus jumped in the way, absorbing the energy the way she had learned so well. Channeling the energy, she lit a ring of fire around her enemy.
"Ah, but to get to him, you have to go through me," Venus smirked, "not so easy now is it? I fight for love and beauty! Sailor suited pretty girl soldier Sailor Venus! And in the name of the planet Venus, I am going to kick your sorry ass from here to Moose Jaw!"
The man took off his hat and glasses, "I am Nephrite," he said, "High General to the esteemed Queen Beryl. You are useless to me, so I shall let you leave now. I want Sailor Moon!"
Venus snorted, and let the fire around Nephrite abruptly die. She had to save her energy for the fight anyway "What, only her? You don't want to deal with a more experienced warrior?" she raised an eyebrow. "I've already gone through one of you supposed Generals. You're nothing to me. Now either go away, or get ready to fight."
Nephrite smirked in return, "Are you referring to Danbright? I assure you, I am far more powerful than he. Great power of the stars, give me your strength! Unleash Leo the Lion!" there was a build up of energy in front of Nephrite that could have been felt back at the Academy. It flowed together and a blue lion with a pink mane and tail appeared as Nephrite started to fade away, "I will not waste my energies on you today, but I will see you again, girl."
"Not if I see you first," Venus muttered, not taking her eyes off the lion. "You're a male lion, you don't hunt," she half stated, half asked. The lion coiled itself for a pounce, "alright then, Venus crescent," she held it there until the lion leapt into the air. Venus dove forward and rolled onto her back so that the lion was in the air directly above her and she unleashed her power, "BEAM!" the beam went straight through the lion's chest and to the ceiling above her. The lion turned to dust.
Sailor Venus got up and grinned triumphantly, "Sailor Moon, eat your heart out!"
"Great work Venus," Artemis said, jumping onto her shoulder from the shadows where he'd been watching.
"Oh, and where have you been scared-y-cat?" Venus asked, still smiling. She scritched under Artemis' chin and walked out of the temple. Outside, Jacen was tending to Tenel Ka's wound. The two of them were so totally engrossed in each other that they didn't notice the third party until Julia came crashing through the bushes.
They both looked at her, slightly insulted expressions on their faces as Julia looked at them confused, "Did I miss anything?"

The cool rain fell and the Degobah fog rose from the warm, damp ground. Callista balled her hand into a frustrated fist and walked the length of the clearing. She was so close. The Force was there, but she always met the wall of evil, the Dark Side, whenever she tried to access it.
She took a deep breath, and held it, trying once again to just do anything with the Force. Let it fill her when she was calm and at peace. Nothing. She let out her breath and sank to her knees, sobbing. Callista threw back her head to meet the increasing rain. Her chest heaved with each shuddering breath as she released the pain and sadness in her heart.
Callista remained like this for a long time. The rain began to let up. Callista stood, brushing the remainder of salty tears from her face. Slowly, she made her way back to her ship. This had been the spot where she'd first connected with the Force for the first time after jumping into Cray's body.
She'd connected with the Dark Side, but it had been a start. A start that had gotten her nowhere. <I've tried everything,> she thought to herself. Then aloud, she pleaded to the sky, "Oh Luke! What can I do so we can be together again?"
~May I make a suggestion?~ a voice filled Callista's head, communication on a wavelength beyond the Force.
Callista looked around, trying to find the source of the voice. Her hand was instinctively on her lightsaber, but strangely enough, she did not feel threatened by this voice. A white beast materialized out of the silvery fog and approached through the trees. He was a tall equine creature, ghostly white and graceful. His arching neck had a silvery mane that matched his tail and hooves. His eyes glistened with sharp intelligence. The most striking feature of this beast, however, was the single, spiral, silver horn that jutted out of his forehead.
~I am a friend,~ he told her, his voice skipping her ears and going straight to her brain, ~I have a message for you from some allies of Luke Skywalker.~
"They know Luke?" Callista asked. She couldn't keep the hope from creeping into her voice, "How is he?"
The creature whinnied in what sounded to be a laugh, ~All in good time child. You humans are so impatient,~ he shook out his mane, ~Mind you, you are a hard person to track down, Callista, and this message is long overdue.~
He ducked his head and touched his horn to Callista's forehead. She gasped as a cold rush went through her. Bright images and vivid sounds filled her mind. For a brief second, as the message hit home, her senses told her she was on Yavin 4, outside at night in the warm tropical climate.
The creature pulled away and Callista fell to her knees, shaking. She struggled to regain her composure as soon as she could. She had to get to Yavin 4.

It had taken Gayle almost a month to get her locket back from Chrisy, and another interminable period of time to get her to fight as Sailor Mercury. Jadeite had not been heard from since his bus fiasco, but Nephrite was popping up regularly on Yavin 4. Sailor Venus was a competent warrior, but she couldn't keep fighting him alone for much longer. Gayle even suspected that Jadeite might have been killed for his failures, and that was why Nephrite was around.
For now, Gayle put aside these problems as she helped her mother get ready for a gala that was being held at the Chateau Laurier. British Royalty had come from across the pond, and was displaying the `unique and breathtaking` Imperium Crystal.
"How did you and Dad get invites to the gala?" Gayle asked as her mother sat looking in the mirror and putting on her make-up.
"We got them through guiding," her mother replied. Gayle nodded, remembering the Queen's involvement in the Guiding organization.
"You look great Mom," Gayle said earnestly.
"Thank-you, Gayle," her mother smiled warmly, then went back to put the finishing touches on her make-up, "and no you can't come."
Her mother got up and left the bedroom to join Gayle's father, who'd been waiting outside for the cab. They didn't want to take the van due to the reasonable fact that downtown parking was hideous at best. Gayle's parent's said their good-nights and Gayle watched them pull out of the driveway. Gayle headed to her room.
"Alright Gayle, time to go!" Luna said, jumping onto Gayle's shoulder.
"Go?" Gayle asked, looking at her guardian cat in confusion.
"This Imperium Crystal might be important," Luna explained, "we have to investigate the gala."
Gayle nodded, "Right. Disguise power! Transform me into a princess!" When Gayle finished her transformation, her hair was up in pig-tails and odangoes and she was dressed in an elegant, white-satin dress, trimmed with deep red roses. The transformation pen had turned itself into a matching parasol. "Oh sweet!" Gayle giggled excitedly as she inspected herself in her bedroom mirror.
"No time for dawdling," Luna scolded, "Let's get going!"
Getting into the Chateau Laurier was not much of a problem, thanks to a wonderful thing called the Force. Gayle blurred her features and walked passed security guards who would never remember her.
She walked around through the large, decadent lobby and down the marble hallway to the large reception area where the unveiling was being held. "The Princess is up on the podium, near the band," Gayle pointed out. Luna, who was draped over Gayle's shoulders mimicking an accessory, discreetly glanced over towards the blond-haired British Princess.
"Is the crystal with her?" the cat whispered in Gayle's ear.
"No, there would be a lot more security if it was," Gayle replied, "We may be Canadians, but we're not stupid."
"I'd like to look around myself," Luna told her. Gayle nodded and went to the washroom. When no one was looking, Luna jumped from Gayle's shoulders and headed out on her own while Gayle headed back to the party. Suddenly, a hand tapped her on the shoulder.
Gayle spun around to see a guy a few years her senior in an elegant black tuxedo smiling at her, "May I have this dance?" he asked. Gayle could feel herself reddening all the way up to the part of her hair under his gaze.
"I'd love to," she replied, extending her hand, "but I warn you, I'm a lousy dancer."
He smiled at her and shook his head as he took her in his arms and they began to whirl around the dance floor. As they moved gracefully with the crowd of other dancers Gayle could not help but get a sense of deja vue.
"It seem s as though we've danced before," she spoke up eventually. He looked at her, his emerald green eyes seemed to bore deep into her soul.
"A long time ago," he replied. Gayle suddenly gasped as her Force sense alarm triggered. A half a second later, every body guard in the place went stiff and they started to move in a synchronized pattern around the hall.
"Excuse me," Gayle turned to her dance partner but he was already gone, "Well that's just rude," she muttered to herself as she quickly made her way towards the exit. Using the Force, Gayle barely slipped passed the security guards' perimeter. She wandered to the upper floors of the Chateau Laurier.
Gayle started a room by room search for what or who had triggered the silent alarm. "Luna'd better not be in any trouble," she muttered to herself more to hear the sound of her own voice than anything. The halls of the upper floor were completely deserted and seemed to loom over her, knowing she wasn't supposed to be there. A noise came from the room to Gayle's left and she whirled around in surprise.
"I'm a Jedi," Gayle took a deep, calming breath, "not Artemis," she boldly pushed the door open and stepped inside. "Luna?" she called. No answer. Gayle walked through the room, giving it a quick glance. Nothing looked out of the ordinary to her. Gayle walked out to the balcony and again, her danger sense flared.
She spun around in time to see the Princess, surrounded in dark energy and clutching a fairly large velvet case to her chest charging at her. The Princess ran into Gayle and body-checked her over the side of the balcony with more expertise than any hockey player.
Before Gayle even had a chance to scream, Tuxedo Kamen grabbed her hand. He started to pull her up and the Princess pushed him over as well. Together they plummeted off the edge of the balcony. Gayle's parasol flew open and slowed the descent to a manageable speed.
"You saved my life today," Tuxedo Kamen told her when they were on the ground.
"It's a two story drop," Gayle raised an eyebrow, "three at most!"
"I won't forget it," with that, he disappeared. Gayle shrugged. Luna came running out of the Chateau Laurier and jumped onto her shoulder.
"Transform! The Princess has been possessed by Jadeite! He plans to steal the Imperium Crystal!" she informed.
"Figures," Gayle rolled her eyes. "Moon Prism Power!"
As Gayle finished transforming into Sailor Moon, the Princess floated down from the balcony where she had pushed Gayle and Tuxedo Kamen. Suddenly, she groaned and keeled over, revealing a very proud looking Sailor Mercury. Sailor Moon raised an eyebrow at her companion.
"Gotta love anti-evil post-its," Mercury smiled. Sure enough, there was a post-it with some kanji scribbled on it stuck to the Princess' back. A spirit now hovered above the Princess' body. It swirled and coalesced until Jadeite was standing in front of them. He picked up the case which most likely held the Imperium Crystal.
"You have come too late," Jadeite told them as he stood triumphantly over the Princess' body, "I have the crystal, and there's nothing you can do to stop me."
"Wanna bet?" Moon asked him, moving into a fighting stance.
"Shabon Spray!" Mercury surrounded the area in a thick fog. Using the Force, Moon sensed that Jadeite was panicking slightly. He sent dark energy flying in random patterns. Moon dodged the ones that got to near and plucked her tiara from her forehead.
"Tiara Action!" she threw her tiara. Jadeite must have turned in the nick of time for he was able to just barely dodge it.
"You'll have to do better than that Sailor Moon!" he called into the mist.
"How about this!" came the voice of Sailor Mercury. There was the squeal of tires and a heavy THUMP followed by a pause and then another thump and the sound of breaking glass.
"Looks like your time is up Jadeite," Moon smirked, "Moon Tiara-"
"Shabon Spray!"
"Action!" Mercury's power melded with Moon's spinning tiara and added a blue sheen to the golden discus. It hit an already badly injured Jadeite in the chest and he disintegrated. "Sweet!" Moon exclaimed.
Mercury grinned triumphantly, "I can't wait to tell Julia about this."

A week later, Gayle and her friend Suzanne walked to the bus stop at the end of the street together after a cheerleading practice. As Gayle stopped at the 16 stop, they said their good-byes and Suzy continued on down the road.
Gayle heard an odd whistling noise coming from above. She looked up just in time to duck a hunk of metal falling from the sky. It smoked in the small crater it left in the frozen ground as Gayle stared at it in wide-eyed astonishment. The smoke let up, and Gayle tentatively picked up the piece of metal. There, branded clearly on the metal was the Imperial Insignia.
She stuffed it in her bag and set off running as fast as she could towards her house and the communicator stored there.
