 Sakura Kinamoto (Sakura Avalon) returns from school one day to find her home empty. Hearing a strange noise from her father's basement library she arms herself with a baton and goes downstairs. As she arrives in the library, Sakura's eye catches on a book called The Clow, which was glowing mysteriously.The book, sealed with a latch, unlocks at Sakura's touch. Opening it, she finds the book to be filled with Tarot-like cards. "Windy," says Sakura reading one of the cards. Suddenly the room is filled with a violent whirlwind, the cards fly through the walls and cieling, leaving Sakura with only the book in her hands. Suddenly a small, flying, mouse-like creature appears. He calls himself Keroberos, guardian of the Clow Cards. The sound that Sakura had heard was his snoring. When Keroberos notices the cards missing, Sakura must tell him what happened. Since she's the one who lost them, Keroberos tells her that she must be the one to find and recapture them. He gives her a magical key which transforms into a staff with the power to return the cards to their confinement. Sakura is now the Card Captor of the Clow Cards. As the series goes on, Sakura meets a rival for the Clow Cards. His name is Syaoran Li, a descendant of Clow Reed who believes the cards belong to his family. Though rivals, Syaoran and Sakura's relationship will develop into something else. Sakura grows in magical ability as the series continues, by capturing the Clow Cards. At times Sakura has premonitions that seem to tell her that she will someday fight by Tokyo Tower. Keroberos won't discuss these visions with Sakura but tells her of someone named Yue and a "Judgement Day" for CardCaptor Sakura.^_~  Links |
