My Ryouga, Akiri and Checkers page!

Ryouga his dog and the girl who loves him.

Ryouga:

Ranma’s life long enemy is… a pig. Ryouga and Ranma used to go to the same High school before Ranma went on his training journey to China. Every day Ranma used to be the first to get the last curry bread, cutlet sandwich, meat bread, melon bread, croquette bread, seaweed bread, chow mien bread etc. before Ryouga. So he finally challenges Ranma. Did we mention this guy has the worst sense of direction? Ranma waits for 3 days, and Ryouga arrives on the 4th day. Unfortunately by that time Ranma’s on his way to China. (And it was only 500 yards down a straight road from Ryouga’s house to their battle ground,) well you can’t blame it all on Ryouga, his parents are just as bad. Any way Ryouga follows Ranma all the way to China and no wait… you guessed it, the Cursed springs. Unfortunately as Ryouga is climbing the mountain, a not so strange girl knocks him into a pool; this is “spring of drowned pig.” There is very tragic story of baby black pig who drowned there 1200 years ago, now whoever fall in turns into same baby black pig. Ryouga then goes through the terrifying experience of almost getting eaten by a man and a giant panda, but luckily he turns back to a boy in the boiling water in the cooking pot. When Ryouga finally turns up at the Tendo training hall he finds out that the young girl and the panda were none other than Ranma and Genma Saotome. He fights Ranma at his school because of the shame Ranma has brought upon him (though it was Ryouga's fault for following him in the first place.) During this fight Akane’s hair gets chopped off by one of his bandannas. When Akane finds Ranma fighting with a pig, she immediately comes to its rescue and takes it off to bed with her (little does she know it is actually Ryouga). Ryouga soon falls deeply in love with Akane, though she actually doesn’t know this. He is always carrying around this exceedingly heavy umbrella and wears numerous red and yellow bandannas. He also has amazingly large canine teeth. Ryoga is Ranma's biggest rival, and no matter how many times he has lost to Ranma, they have all been very close battles. Ryoga is almost Ranma's equal and is constantly improving his abilities to stay at the same level as Ranma and hopefully gain enough courage to tell Akane how he really feels about her. Even though they fight often, Ryoga and Ranma have a mutual respect for one another's abilities. The name P-chan was thought up by Akane, P for pig aND cHAN FOR LITTLE. Personality: Another obsessive type, Ryoga is also particularly dim-witted, and is pretty unreasonable - particularly blaming things on Ranma, when it isn't really his fault, and has a bad temper. His is also particularly shy around girls, and gets a bad nosebleed when he sees a girl's naked body, and in related situations. Though he does really love Akane, and often tries to work up the courage to tell her, he can stray if any girl appears to want him (i.e. onna-Ranma in disguise). In a similar way to Ranma and Akane, he also has a sense of honor and fair play - for example, he helps Ranma when he lost his strength because of Happosai. He is also rather protective of Akane, and is sensitive to her feelings, and gets quite upset when Ranma appears to be playing around with girls again, and pretty much hates Ranma generally.
Checkers:

In the manga, Ryouga's dog, age 4. The only one in Ryouga's household that can find her way home. Appears on television, as a lost dog looking for her master, with a litter of two-tone puppies that Akane adores. In the series, a ninja dog that Ryouga rescues and adopts. It is white on one side, black on the other.

Shirokuru:

Akari Unryuu comes from a family that raises sumo-wrestling pigs. Her pig, Katsunishiki was the champion sumo wrestling pig until the much more experienced fighting pig, P-chan, defeated him. After finding out that Ryoga and P-chan were one and the same, she was overjoyed and instantly fell in love with him. Akari's grandfather told her that she should marry whoever could defeat Katsunishiki, luckily for her it was Ryoga. Akari has absolutely no problem with the fact that Ryoga turns into a little black pig, she actually thinks it's quite interesting and loves Ryoga all the more for it. Personality: Except for his temper, Akari's personality is quite similar to Ryoga's - she's polite, and quite shy (as well as pretty cute), a bit dim, and to her Ryoga is the only man in the world for her. She is willing to wait for as long as it takes for Ryoga, and will forgive him anything
