The digidestined meet at the computer room to go save Agumon but Yolei doesn't feel up to going and stays back in the Digital World. Meanwhile, Ken is experimenting with Greymon. He still isn't able to seem to control Skullgreymon with his dark rings though. The digidestined find a control spire and another one of the Digimon Emporer's evil henchmen, Woodmon. Flamedramon destroys the Control Spire and defeats Woodmon and they move on. While the digidestined are heading towards Rail Town. The Digimon Emporer is inventing an advanced version of the dark ring, a dark spiral. Wormmon secretly releases Agumon and Agumon escapes and finds the digidestined. Ken shows up to fight the digidestined when he finds Agumon has escaped. Veemon armordigivolves to Flamedramon to fight the Seadramon and Darktyrannomon Ken has sent out. Digmon comes into the battle to help out also, as do Nefertimon and Pegasusmon. Ken controls Agumon once again except this time with a dark spiral and makes Agumon darkdigivolve to Skullgreymon. The Digimon Emporer finally leaves but Agumon is still under Ken's control unfortunately. This determines the digidestined to "defeat Agumon" and "go get Agumon!"
