Wow...A nice looking editorial...(well, I think so anyway. Much better than the old layout)why you ask?

I don't know either. Probably because I haven't slept yet--and won't get a chance to sleep before I have to start my day, go to class, etc. So I'm going to attempt to give my incoherent thoughts on assorted Sailor scouts! Whoo-hoo!

Someone please tell me what the appeal of Sailor Mercury is…I just don't get it. I never have, actually.

Maybe it's because back in my day(every rant needs this phrase, doesn't it?)we were supposed to hate the brainy one. Because Brainy Smurf, the smart kid on the Potato Head Kids(yes, I watched the Potato Head kids...), Owl on Winnie the Pooh, and a dozen other smart people were really just book smart dweebs who really didn't know diddly. And we should all laugh at them.

Now I know that Mercury is actually intelligent. She studies hard. She has an impossible IQ. Yadda yadda yadda.

She's still far from my favorite scout. Yes, she does want to be a doctor--and I say thank god since the other inners seem to mostly dream about quiet, domestic little lives(okay, Mina wants to be an idol and Raye wants to...well, I'll get back to that)

There's just something about Mercury that I must be missing. Before I was even a Sailor Moon fan I mocked her for her wimpy attack.(even fans of Mercury have to admit that "Mercury Bubble Blast" is not a battle cry that strikes fear into the hearts of...well, anyone.)

Actually, in terms of ranking the scouts, I'd have to say that I'm basically ambivalent towards Mercury.

Manga Mercury inspires more of my wrath, actually. Which is amazing since something about the manga makes me like everyone...but in the Exam Battle Chapters, part of me just wants to backhand Amy. Mostly because, much like Lita, I'm the procrastinator type.(yesterday I did my friend's dishes to put off doing my reading for history class...)

Moving through the solar system...Venus. Ugh. There's something about Venus that just irks me(but hey, at least it's a feeling other than my Mercury ambivalence!) I think it's the bimbo thing. There are times when Serena is too much bimbo for me and Venus is...Venus is practically the punchline of every blonde joke.

Besides, and maybe this falls under that whole ruling planet thing, but Venus has always radiated tramp. I don't mind sex appeal in my cartoon characters(I appreciate it in my hot, scantily clad fem-boy cartoon characters!), but tramp is a bad thing to radiate. It probably all ties in with the dumb blonde thing.

Next up--Tuxedo Mask. Tuxedo Mask is utterly worthless, but he's not bad looking. In fact, I love men with the whole dark hair/blue eyes colored. Blue eyes are absolutely gorgeous...

But yeah, as for Tux...he's eye candy. Sure, he's got good aim with the flowers and he does constantly save Sailor Moon, but it's not like he could do much on his own...

As for Sailor Moon...she's grown on me, actually. First season--what a let down. Yeah, duh, she's the moon princess, but...eww. Same for R. It wasn't until S and SuperS that I could actually stand/respect/admit that SM has some of the most powerful attacks and didn't just strategically wait until the other scouts had half killed themselves before using an attack(okay, you can't tell me this isn't true when she chucks her tiara at a youma...)

Mars is a bitch, but I've got nothing against her. Yeah, she's catty, etc., but she's all right.

Jupiter is my favorite inner scout.
