In the dubbed prologue, Serena tells us that enemies have gone after their life energy, their hearts, and precious bodily fluids, but now they're after dreams! In the original, we learn that sometimes you have to get on your own white horse to go after Prince Charming.
Oh, yeah, if Equus made you queasy, don't watch this episode.
Anyway, there's a dark, sad crystal forest...and a sparkly light is calling out, saying that he came through the night, just to see you. Naturally, it's Pegasus(he's like a My Little Pony, only far too much like a park pervert)
Rini, meanwhile, finds herself running through the streets of Tokyo after a shrill whinny. She ends up in a bright forest where there's a white horse. She starts blushing and reaching out for him.
One of those backgrounds normally reserved for Pluto telling Rini that he best friend was evil appears and Rini gets her princess dress and stares at Pegasus with a look of squicky adoration.
Pegasus then asks her not to tell anyone about this.
But this on the back burner kids. This is Pegasus at his most trusting.
Yay, time for an solar eclipse! Everyone loves solaric lips! And learning about how spooky it is when the moon hides the sun. Rini isn't impressed by Serena's explanation. She's too busy thinking about Pegasus.
Elizabeth asks Rini if she's worried about something...and tells her not to do anything that would upset her parents. Darien and Serena naturally become very interested. Andrew mentions that Elizabeth's been staying out late...before any grilling can start, Darien points out that it's time for the eclipse.
While an eclipse like this only happens once every hundred years, it usually isn't accompanied by a large, cobwebby spider tent. Serena notices it, but quickly runs after her friends and forgets about it.
Yay! The circus is in town! The circus that probably will cause children to scream at the mention of Barnum and Bailey for years to come...
And what kind of people don't notice the sudden appearence of a circus tent? According to the twisted carnies, self-absorbed dogs and monkeys.
Someone tells the carnies to be quiet...they obediantly disappear under the floor.
While male or English-speaking Zirconia sounds like Yoda, female or "classic" Zirconia is the best reason I've ever heard for quitting smoking right now. S/he appears in a cloud of smoke and announces that it's world domination time! She asks if the Amazon Trio is there.
Tiger's-Eye, Fish-Eye, and Hawk's-Eye are all here and ready to be told that a mysterious "he" needs to be captured. Their first mission is to find the right beautiful dreamer.
Fish-Eye asks why just beatiful dreams and Zirconia explains that Pegasus can't hold his shape in this world, so he has to live inside a beautiful dream.
Zirconia then teaches us that there are more humans than stars, and that only a few of them have beautiful dreams.(and, quite conveniently, they all like in Tokyo...)
The Amazon Trio bows and heads off to...a bar. There's a lot of beautiful dreamers, but fortunately they're all hot! Hawk's-Eye reminds Tiger's-Eye that they shouldn't be doing this based on who they find attractive(Hawk's-Eye will change his tune in about two missions)and Fish-Eye says he can't believe they find these girls attractive.
In English, Tiger's-Eye says that Fish-Eye's tastes are different from his. In Japanese, he says that Fish-Eye's preferences are "really specific."
Either way, Tiger's-Eye decides to go after Elizabeth. Hawk's-Eye says girls like that are hard to get, but Tiger's-Eye says you just have to make a chance meeting look like destiny.
Serena and Rini are at the fruit parlor, grilling Elizabeth about what Andrew said. Serena's curiousity is naturally piqued when Elizabeth doesn't want to discuss this in front of Rini...who grabs Elizabeth's locket and wants to see if it's the guy.
Elizabeth explains that the guy isn't her boyfriend...and that he probably won't ask her out.
Rini says that being a girl doesn't mean waiting for a prince to come to you on a white horse--sometimes you have to get on your own horse!(oh, eww...)
Serena asks if Rini's been reading her romance novels. Usagi asks if Chibi-Usa's been reading Mama's "mature" novels.(mature novels sounds a lot more...explicit than romance novels...)
Later, Elizabeth is on the bus. Tiger's-Eye is there--white suit, ring on every finger, and old lady earrings. He uses magic to steal her wallet, then returns it to her. Off the bus, he goes into full flirt mode.
Elsewhere, Rini's dragged Serena out for a walk fairly late at night, wondering if there's a forest with a lake in it. Serena wonders where she got that idea--then they hear screaming.
Tiger's-Eye apologizes for scaring Elizabeth, then changes. One, two, three, and we get the explanation of what that crazy mirror is. Before he can check the dreams, Moon and Mini-Moon tell him to hold it right there!
He's not impressed with the speech and refers to them as pumpkins before calling out Karakuriko, the creepy ass doll who's told to get rid of the pumpkins.
Karakuriko's arms grab Sailor Moon and hold her up...while the dolls legs pin Mini-Moon to the ground(look at Mini-Moon and the lower half of Karakuriko and tell me this is a cute season...)
A sword comes out of Karakuriko's mouth and starts trying to stab Sailor Moon. Fortunately, Tuxedo Mask hits her upside the head with a rose(I didn't think it was possible, but I think his speeches are actually worse in Japanese...)
Tiger's-Eye promptly asks what the hell Tuxedo Mask is wearing and the two start fighting. The competance of the Amazon Trio is immediately called into question when Tuxedo Mask beats Tiger's-Eye. Tiger's-Eye explains that his whip has tied Tuxedo mask's shadow to the tree and cape boy can't move. This gives Tiger's-Eye a chance to look in those sexy dream's of Elizabeth's.
There's no Pegasus(but we do get our first gratuitous ass shot) and we learn that beautiful dreamers have to be killed so horsie can't hide in their dreams later. Looks like Sailor Moon and friends are screwed.
Mini-Moon begs for help and Pegasus appears, knocking Karakuriko away. Pegasus then powers Moon and Mini-Moon up to their super forms and the moon kaleidoscope appears. In English, Moon Super Moon Target means lights out for Karakuriko. In the original, creepy Barbie stages out with some grunting.
Tiger's-Eye flees, Pegasus gives both Moons a come hither look and vanishes. The Moons go back to normal and Tuxedo Mask assures them that Elizabeth just fainted.
Sailor Moon asks Mini-Moon if she knows what just happened, and Mini-Moon--remembering Pegasus telling her to keep things quiet--says she doens't know.
