Hidden Fear

Fear.
You can see it everywhere.
You can see it in people’s faces.
It’s grim and fierce.
Its stained with blackness that will never fade.

The darkness seeps into every corner;
Every crevice of peoples lives.
There is no escaping it no matter how much you try.

This fear will never go away.
Tattooed. Forever.
These tattoos are seen everywhere; they cannot be forgotten.

Hidden.
Hidden in fear.

These secrets are hidden deep inside.
No one has to know;
No one has to know these fears of mine.

Reminders.

Reminders of past memories.
Painful.
Fearful that it could happen again.
This fear is stabbing you.
Your heart is now beating like a speeding bullet.
Will it happen again? Will anyone know?

You sit there. Paranoid.
Frozen to your seat. Not moving.
Not even one inch.
A fly lands on your nose.
You don’t even swat it off.
You sit there in the darkness of fear.

You think,
“If I just sit here, nothing bad will come of me..”
For you know this is not true,
For the fear is in you.
It will creep up in you
And say, “BOO”.
