Eden: It's an Endless World!
- -

Story Summary
A post-apocalyptic survival story involving secret government agencies, deadly viruses, robots, and cyborg people. A virus wipes out 15% of the worlds population in the future, and some of the survivors struggle to survive. The story follows a young boy named Elijah, and a group of guerrillas he comes to run with. Elijah's on a mission to save his mother and sister who are being held as hostages to attract Elijah's powerful father's attention. The guerrilla group consists of interesting characters as well, including Kenji, a cold blooded assassin, and Sophia, a genius with computers who had her brain transplanted into a cyborg body. As the story progresses, we see Elijah grow up and become a regular criminal. Though he's become a murderer, he still has a good heart and will stop at nothing to protect those he loves.

My Opinion
Eden is a fascinating story about an often cruel world, and how those who live in it manage to love and survive. The story can be as simple as looking in on the relationships and pasts of characters, but is also scientific and political. Hiroki Endo's story telling is often violent, gruesome, and highly sexual. But through all the ugliness of the world he's created, there is also beauty in how some of the characters love and protect one another.

News
I've heard word through the internet that Dark Horse is considering dropping Eden due to poor sales. Volumes 1-10 are out, but there is no release date for volume 11.
