Le Chevalier D'Eon
- -

Story Summary
A story set in the early to mid 1700's of France, about a royal servicemen, D'Eon Beaumont, and his mission to avenge his sister Lia, who was murdered and left floating in a coffin in a river. While D'Eon struggles to hunt down his sisters murderers, he is helped by allies and his dead sister herself; whose spirit possesses him from time to time.

My Opinion
I am enjoying what I've watched of this series. I always think historical fiction is fun, though there is a magical element added to this story, with the whole secret society of poets in the series. The design and animation is wonderful, even though I usually loathe computer aided animation. But the characters are interesting and the series seems promising.

Fun Facts
D'Eon Beaumont (1728-1810) was a real person who worked as a spy for Louis XV. He disguised himself as a woman (Lia de Beaumont) and traveled to Russia to serve for the Empress Elizabeth, all the while acting as a spy for the king of France. D'Eon lived out the later years of his life as a woman, actually claiming that he was a real woman, though an examination after death proved he was indeed a man. He never had a sister named Lia, Lia was his alter-ego while in Russia. (Source: Wikipedia)
