The mists of the portal fade and you look around in surprise...
everywhere you look is blue.
With sudden panic, you realize the portal has left you ... UNDER WATER!!
You begin thrashing and trying desperately to find the surface,

Gasping, you whirl around to confront a boy in the water with you.
'Gasping?!' you realize that you can BREATH under water.
The boy giggles at you. 'Yes, you can breath. In fact you can do nearly everything here that you normally would. It is part of the magic of Amberlin. As long as you stick to the well traveled paths, nothing in Amberlin will harm you,' he cheerfully informs you.
'Who are you, and what is this place,' you ask him in confusion.
'These are the waters of Amberlin, and I am one of their caretakers,' he proudly states. 'I care for the Uiscemarcs, Rhapsody and Jazz, and when I get a bit older, I'm going to have more creatures to take care of.'
You admire the two creatures and tell the boy he's doing a great job with the happy, glowing Uiscemarcs. Looking past a gracefully twisting, green Uiscemarc, you notice for the first time that the boy has FINS instead of legs.
Noticing your interest, 'I'm a Merchibi,' he explains.
'What is a Merchibi?'
'A little male version of a mermaid.'
'Little?'
'Chibi means little,' he mumbles.
Hiding a smile you ask, 'But what is your name?'
'OH! I'm Aevin, Aevin BrightWater.'
