The 40 hour famine is a fundraising event for people all around Australia. You give someting up (usually food, but you can choose something elese) for 40 hours. You can go for a different amount of time though, and if you're under 12 you can't give up food for more than 8 hours. What's the point? You may ask. The point is, to save lives. You get people to sponsor your efforts, and send the money in to World Vision. The money is used to buy food, clothing, shelter and schooling for poor and dying African children whom as we er - read are suffering. To join, you can use one of the links at the bottom of the page. You have to be an Australian, though.
