The Kudo's



The Kudo's (as far as I know) have two homes. one in LA and another where Shinichi used to live in Japan, It's huge and has a large garden, this is where Shinichi lived before he was srunk.


Shinichi Kudo:
'The Saviour Of The Japanese Police'

Shinichi is a very big headed 17 year old detectvie, dispite this he cares very much for his childhood friend Ran and he finds her attractive. Shinichi is knocked over the head and is given a drug to kill him while at a theme park (Tropical Land) with his girlfriend Ran Mouri. He wakes up and people keep refering to him as 'boy' and treat him like a little kid. He soon finds that he has regressed ten years. His old friend and next door naighbour, Dr Agasa makes him promise not to let his true identity known to Ran or anyone else. He goes though lots of close calls when people notice his personality and lack of singing ability match Shinichi's perfectly. He lives under the flase name: Conan Edogawa and lives with Ran and her father: Kogoro Mouri. Shinichi seems to care about Ran more and more as the series goes on and we see that he loves as a friend and not just her looks. Shinichi is a very clever guy and has great respect for the novelist Conan Doyle...
The name 'Shinichi' means 'Death-one', He deals with death all the time so this must be why.
'Shin' means 'Death'
'ichi' means 'One'

Seiyuu/Voice Actor: Kippei Yamaguchi for shinichi, and for Conan: Minami Takayama, the girl singer/vocals for Two-Mix. Shinichi's birthday is May 4 ....

Yasaku and Yukiko arn't always on the best of terms...^_^!



Yuki:Listen to me, Shinichi Conan:Okay! Mum, I'm listening.

Yuki:Your father didn't come home until this morning again, and he was drunk! I'm so mad!

Conan:What can I do, dad is a popular writer, so he has a lot of responsibilities.

Yuki:What responsibilities? He had lipstick marks on his shirt.

Yuki:Damn it! Maybe I should have an affair too!

Conan:Please!

Yasaku:
Can't seem to find it in himself to say anything good about his son but, belive it of not' he does care. He thinks of Conan still as a seven year old but not as much as Yukiko. He shows he cares in strange and mysterious ways.

Yukiko: Do you think Shinichi will be ok?
Yasaku: He'll be fine. before you know it he'll be running back to us crying!
Full name: Yukiko Fujiyama, changed to Yukiko Kudo when she became married.
Ocupation: An Actress
Family: (husband) Yusaku Kudo (son) Shinchi kudo.

She loves the yonger version of her son and tries as much as she can to play with him. Shinichi, or course, finds it anoying. Yukiko told Ran a lie so Shinichi's identity could remain secret.I Read somewhere that she used to be an artist but thats not confirmed. She was involved in a trick to get Shinichi to come to live with them in the USA to escape danger. Shinichi, however, decided against the idea.



Other Charecters!


Ran Mouri:
Ran is Shinichi's girlfriend. She is is(like Shinichi)17. She is by nature a very caring person, so she dosn't much like he father's job as a private detective. Ran is a genius at karate and a wiz at cards, She does all the domestic house work becase she is the only responsble one. Her mother, Eri and her father have been seperated for sevan years despite this she keeps in conntact with her. Ran feels like she has to look after Conan and Kogoro almost like a mother and she doesn't like to show her feelings about Shinichi's disaperence to either of them.
For her name 'Mouri' go to Kogorou Mouri
Seiyuu/Voice Actor: Wakana Yamazaki


Kogoro Mouri: Kogoro isn't the smartest in the world and he wears the same outfit every single day of the week. I personally think Kogoro isn't as dumb as everyone makes him out to be, he can when it concens his daughter be very caring and lets face it if he was truely that bad he wouldn't have taken in Conan. When I say thins it doesn't mean I'm a fanatic I just think he can somtimes be nice...
Kogorou's name 'Mouri' means 'forest' and that could represnt for Kogorou his being confussed (lost). For Ran it could mean 'homely' becase a forest can be homely thing for things that live there, I don't have any better idea's for this...

Eri Kisaki/ (was Mouri)
Eri is a lawyer and a very hard working women, she is very skilled is karate and in one case beats up the criminal, this must be the secret beheind Rans tallent. She once saved Kogorou from being sentenced to death in a case and her asked her to return home, Eri then took off Rans Hi-Fi and she seems that she hasn't heard Kogorou's plead for her return. That night, however, she listens to it, she wasn't listening to the Hi-Fi insted she taped Kogorou's speech. She says to herself that it's not time for her to return...
Her name 'Kisaki' means 'Queen', in that manga she is refered to as the 'lawyer queen' becase she is so good at her job.
For her name 'Mouri' go to Kogorou.

Detective Boys
The detective boys are first introduced in vol 2. It concists of Misuhiko Tsuburaya, Ayumi Yoshida, Genta Kojima and Conan Edogawa. In the anime they apper in the first case he solves, in the manga it is the second. They are little kids and are full of energy and they love to help Conan even if they do get into trouble doing so. Genta and Misuhiko like Ayumi, who likes Conan, who likes Ran.
Misuhiko is the smartest (next to Conan that is)
Ayumi is the sweetest, most truthfull member of the Detectvie Boys.... Her name 'Ayumi' means 'Walk'. Her parents probably wanted her to be inderpendent.
and Genta is the strongest
Conan is the brainest


Ai Haibara/Shiho Miyano/Sherry:
Ai is the shrunken version of 'the top brains of the organization' Shiho Miyano. She turned against the organization when she heard they killed her sister Akemi Miyano. When she did this they decided to kill her too. She made up her mind to kill herself before the blacks did and took the drug to kill herself but insted of dying she turned into a seven year old and was able to escape... I'm not sure what happened next but here is an educated guess based on things I've seen or heard. She ran to Kudo's house when it dawned on her that the same must have happened to him. When she get's there it's dark and raining and Unable to get in she colapsed on the ground only to be found by Dr Agasa who soon finds out who she really is and lets her live with him. She is fully reformed and goes to Tantei elemantary school, like Conan but she is rather depressing to be around becase of her very pesamistic personality.
Her name 'Ai' means 'Love', this name was made up to distinguish from her darker side of Shiho Miyano. Her name 'Haibara' means 'Ash-grass'. I think that 'ash' represents her red hair and her firely. Grass, I don't know what that represents.

Gin and Vodka
The members of the black org that drugged Shinichi. Vodka may be Gin's brother, becase that is what he always calls him. Vodka always seems to look up to Gin.

The names 'Gin' and 'Vodka' are very strong alcoholic drinks like 'Sherry', this might mean that they are strong (like alcohol is) and they munipulate people (like alcohol effects your brain)... "Adios...Meitantei San"

Hiroshi Agasa
Hiroshi is 52. He was the first person to find out about Shinichi's predicament. At first he was disbelivinng and thought he was a younger relative. After showing his decutive skills Agasa belives him...
Agasa spends most of him time inventing. Shinichi calls them 'useless inventions' but where would he be without them?



Sonoko is Ran's best friend. She is part of one of the richest families in Japan (Suzuki) and she tends to be a little bit snabbish. She is still a good friend for Ran. She does tend to go crazy about every cute guy but soon loses intrest and finds sombody else....
Her name 'Sonoko' means 'Garden', In Japan, becase of the limited space, few people have gardens, becase Sonoko is rich it might be symbolic to call her 'garden'.
Her second name 'Suzuki' is the name of a famous, rich car company, any chance this could be conected?

Ayako Suzuki
Ayako is Sonoko's sister, she is 24. She is still a graduated student. She was envoled in a murder in manga number 5. She and her three college friends are the suspects.



These three appear in the 3ed episode. Yoko is a well-known singer and she goes to Kogorou for help. Yamagishi is her manager. Yuko is the suspect in the murder case.


Inspector Megure
Megure is a member of the police force, he used to solve cases with Kogorou and at first thought that Kogorou was a idiot (I wonder why?) but begins to gain respect becase of all the cases he solves.


Shiratori
Shiratori is somebody who works in the police force. He likes Satou.
I know that 'tori' means 'Bird' in Jpanese not sure about 'Shira'...

Wataru Takagi
Takagi is one of Megures asistants, he is a sweet guy and careing person. He secretly likes Satou.


Miwako Satou
Satou, too, works for Megure. She is a dedicated employee and works hard. She first appears quite far into the series. Satou's father was killed in a road accident, and aparently pushed ino the road and murdered. In 'A metropolitan police love story' Satou promises that who ever gets her father's killer behind bars will be rewarded with anything she can give them (both Takagi and Shiratori have an image of Satou wearing a wedding dress in their heads). This insident brings painfull haunting memories of her fathers death back to Satou.
Satou's mother: Dear, be carefull...
Satou's father: Don't worry, the paper says that I'm lucky today.

Satou: Daddy, forgot his handcuffs...


Satou's mother: WHAT! My Husband? by a car?

Satou (At about seven years old) had to watch her father die becase the Ambulence was late.

Satou: You fight for justice, you do everything for justice...
Satou's father: Idiot, not just for justice...

At the end of that manga, Takagi solves the case and Satou takes him out on a date.

Her name 'Miwako' means 'beautifull, harmony girl'... 'Mi' means 'Beautifull', 'wa' means 'Hamony' and 'ko' is commonly used in girls names...
