Twin spica is a story of, being able to move forward and realizing childhood dreams. It all begins with the crash of a shuttle, and a massive amount of damage and lost life. Included in this is the main character's family. The day the shuttle came down, she and her mother were in what would soon become a firey mess of death and destruction.
Several years later, we meet our main character and see her wishes to become an astronaught. At the time she always refers to it as 'Rocket-ship Driver'. The series follows her and a few friends she makes along the way as they attend and try to pass, astronaught school. Also accompanying her on this journey is a man in a Lion's mask, a ghost of the astronaught who flew the shuttle that crashed and died that day, who befriended the girl at a young age.
