Welcome to .hack//sign, a place where online RPGs take a new direction. The series is centered around a game called "The World". In 2007 a virus called "Pluto's Kiss" destroyes the Internet as we know it. Pandimonium follows for several months. The internet is rebuilt, and things return to some state of normal. Soon after, a MOGMOD game is introduced. That is "The World", where players can interact, play together or do what ever they wish.
I've found the series to be interesting thus far. All is circled around a young male character named Tsukasa. He can't logout of "The World". But what would happen if you couldn't logout? What would it mean? Most players would simply reboot right? But... What happens if you're not infront of a computer, and can't reboot?
This series is fresh and original, with great musical backup. I suggest it for a good watch. Some find the middle bits a bit boring, but I still see it as solidly interesting.
