This new series by CLAMP is based on the manga Chobits. In this series a young boy by the name of Hideki, gets accepted to a Tokyo Colledge, his adventure begins. He spends the first half of the day looking for the colledge. On his way, he sees some new technology, namely robotic memory interfaces. All of these robots look like young girls, and can be told appart from normal girls by 2 large ear-like devices on either side of their head. These contain wires, and interface plugs.
After settling into his dorm room, and being greeted by 3 new friends: Hibiya who is a janitor and told him where the colledge was, Shinbo his next door neighbor, and finally Sumomo, who is Shinbo's miniture robotic storage unit. Hideki went out to pick up a snack, and on his way back he noticed a girl in the dumpster by the colledge. He was thinking about calling the police, when he noticed she was a robot. He takes her back to his place, and turns her on. She has no memory. The only thing she can say is "Chi", and so he names her Chi. She mimics what she sees, and she is very cute.
