They looked up at the mansion. "Tai, isn't this where we stayed that time Kari was sick," Sora asked. Tai nodded, but said nothing.
"Digidestined!" A strange voice came from above. Thirty-five pairs of eyes looked up.
"That's Wisamon," said Sparromon. "She's usually a nice Digimon, but she doesn't sound too friendly this time."
Wisamon was an owl shaped Digimon. She was covered in gray and brown feathers, except where she wore a dark colored vest. It was a distinct possibility that the vest was black, but the Digidestined couldn't tell.
Tarini held out her computer. "You use it first." The others nodded despite their confusion.
"Power of Hope!"
"Parmon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopeparmon."
Hopeparmon was a cross between a cat and a horse. He was white all over. The Hope Star was a mask over his face. His silver mane fell to one side of his neck.
"Power of Hope!"
"Sparromon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopesparromon."
"Labumon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopelabumon."
Hopesparromon was a hippogriff. He spread ruby wings, revealing the Hope Star on each wing. His equine half was a bay color, while his eagle side was red. His long tail was a sapphire color.
Hopelabumon was a pegasus. Around his chest was the Hope Star. He spread diamond wings the same color as the rest of his body and took to flight, Glen on his back.
Ashi passed Tarini's computer to Taki. "Your turn."
"I know."
Wisamon struck before Taki could activate the Hope Star. "Dream Snare!"
Aurimon, Bordemon, Daraimon, Geramon, Lupimon, and Trisermon fell asleep. Their partners rushed to their sides and tried to wake them up. "Look," TK yelled. "Wisamon's black vest! She's being controlled by the Master of Digimon!"
"Then we've got to destroy it!"
Taki succeeded in waking Aurimon. "Digivolving time. Power of Hope!"
"Aurimon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopaurimon."
Hopaurimon looked like a cross between a dragon and a horse. He spread golden, leathery wings to protect Taki. The Hope Star was wrapped around one hoof. His horse half was palamino in color.
Taki handed Tarini's computer to Jihan and Vari.
Vari looked at the computer. "Maybe we can wake our Digimon with this."
"I think you're right," Jihan said. "So let's give it a try." Vari nodded.
Together they cried out, "Power of Hope!"
"Daraimon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopedaraimon."
"Geramon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopegeramon."
Hopedaraimon was an alicorn. The Hope Star was a mark on her equine face. She was mostly black, but also had white spots over her wings and back.
Hopegeramon had a white horse's mane over her neck. Her long tail was white as well. On her stomach was the Hope Star. Her claws were silver, as was her horn.
Jihan gave Tarini's computer to Msaada and Sarran. "Go on," she urged.
"Right," Sarran said firmly, knowing exactly what she had to do in order to win.
"Power of Hope!"
"Lupimon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopelupimon."
"Trisermon Hope Star digivolve to...Hopetrisermon."
Hopelupimon had a horse's hooves, mane, and tail in shades of pale blue. The Hope Star was wrapped around her lower legs. She wrapped pale green wings around her body.
Hopetrisermon still had her three horns. Other than that, she looked like a horse. She wore a mask over her face that looked like the Hope Star. Her grey colored body had streaks of other colors in it.
Sarran called out, "Tarini! Catch!" She threw the computer to Tarini. However, it was intercepted by Wisamon. The Digimon laughed.
"What are you going to do now? You're one short," she mocked.
"Not for long," Hopelabumon said. "Crystal Shot!" From Hopelabumon's hooves, which were diamond like the rest of him, pieces of crystal shot toward Wisamon. They knocked the computer from Wisamon's grasp. TK caught it and got it to Tarini.
"Your turn," he said softly.
Tarini took a deep breath, then said something nobody expected. "Power of the Stars!"
From Tarini's computer appeared images of all nine stars. They each glowed and surrounded Bordemon. Everyone looked on, almost awed.
The Courage Star hit Bordemon. An aura of orange light surround the Digimon. Then the Friendship Star struck Bordemon. Into the orange aura shot streaks of blue light. After that, the Love Star struck Bordemon. Streaks of red light lanced through the aura.
"I never thought it would be this amazing to witness," Izzy said. "I knew the power of the stars would be combined, but not so..." Izzy couldn't think of a word to describe it. Even Allison, usually quite imaginative with a fairly decent vocabulary, couldn't find a word to describe it.
The Knowledge Star hit Bordemon just before purple streaks shot through the Digimon's aura. The Sincerity Star hit the Digimon next. Green light lanced through her aura. The Reliability Star hit Bordemon next. As grey light shone into the aura, Tarini's eyes widened in amazement.
"Wow," she murmured. "That's pretty. And she still hasn't digivolved."
The Hope Star hit Bordemon, leading to yellow in her aura. The Light Star was the next star to activate. Pink light lanced through Bordemon's aura. The Perseverance Star's power joined the power of the other stars and silver light shot through the aura.
The aura suddenly merged with Bordemon. The small Digimon glowed.
"Bordemon Star digivolve to...Stabordemon."
Stabordemon had the stars wrapped around her waist like a belt. She had a rainbow colored mane around her face, much like a horse's mane. Grey fur covered the rest of her body. She had silver wings and a pink stripe down the center of her face.
The Master of Digimon watched the events unfold. As Bordemon used the power of all nine stars to digivolve, he watched in shock. "What's going on," he whispered, confused.
When Stabordemon showed up, he realized he had underestimated the Digidestined. "What is this power they have? And how are they able to do that? This requires research, I think. Research I don't have time for."
Viralmetalgreymon growled menacingly at Stabordemon. The Master of Digimon laughed. "Yes, my pet. You'll get a chance at her later. I have no doubt that they'll free Wisamon. So you will have a chance at them."
Stabordemon lifted her hands to the sky. "Attack," she cried.
Hopeparmon tossed his mane before saying, "Equine Cat Claw!" His claws extended from his paws and glowed. He slashed out with both paws. Glowing trails left by his claws hit Wisamon's vest, but didn't destroy it.
Hopesparromon stretched his wings. "Ruby Wing Flame!" His wings ignited for a moment. Then the flames shot toward Wisamon. He, too, failed to destroy Wisamon's vest, but now the vest showed signs of very minimal damage.
"Crystal Shot!"
Hopaurimon used his powerful muscles to leap upward. "Dragon's Might!" His body slammed into Wisamon. The vest wasn't damaged, though.
Hopedaraimon's star mark glowed. "Starlight Thunder!" Many beams of light converged on the Hope Star. Then a white lightning bolt shot from the Hope Star and struck Wisamon's vest. It was still barely damage.
"What will it take to destroy that thing," Vari asked the air.
Hopegeramon looked up at her opponent. "Silver Horn Strike!" Her horn shot upward and struck the black vest. Then another horn appeared on Hopegeramon's head.
Hopelupimon spread her wings. "Equine Star Blast!" From the sky shot many meteors, all striking the vest.
Hopetrisermon yelled, "Heaven Bolt!" A flash of pink lightning hit the vest. "Yes!"
Stabordemon didn't look ready to attack, so the others attacked. "Lightning Claw!"
"Spiral Twister!"
"Poison Ivy!"
"Ice Breath!"
"Marching Fishes!"
"Blue Blaster!"
"Super Shocker!"
Stabordemon noticed the vest was nearly destroyed now. "Star Chain!" A succession of the stars around her waist hit the vest, destroying it.
Wisamon blinked in confusion. "What was I doing?" With a shrug, she flew off.
"We did it," Sarran murmured. As the Digimon dedigivolved, yellow stars appeared on eight computers and Izzy walked over to Tarini.
"I see you listened to what I said."
Tarini nodded, beaming in pleasure. "Stabordemon was great."
"Yes, and now the others will be able to do what you did today."
"We will," questioned Chan. Izzy nodded.
"Viralmetalgreymon, go get those Digidestined." The big Digimon nodded, then walked away.
When he was gone, the Master of Digimon said, "Deviderimon, be prepared to follow him. Do you understand?"
"Yes, master."
"Good. This time we won't fail."
