Our goals can be very simply stated: We aim to produce a beautiful, healthy German Shepherd with strong working ability, high trainability and a natural protective drives. We DO NOT breed for extremes: NO extreme structure (NO over angulated rears, NO roached backs) and NO extreme drives (Calm/even drives, dogs that excelln in SchH, yet are calm in the home and fit into the average American family). V-1 Hillary van Contra IPO1, KKL-1 and Pete. Our number one goal at von Schwartz GSD is to FURTHER and IMPROVE the German Shepherd breed, thus providing our clients with a BETTER dog. Our breedings are aimed to produce the total GSD balancing ideal working/training ability, character, health and structure. We breed 100% Imported West German Showlines which follow the strict guidles of the SV(Germany)... dogs must PROVE themselvs to be the BEST before they are bred. They are Shown, titled in Schutzhund, Hip certified, are Breed surveyed and pass a 12 mile endurance test. Our dogs MUST posses the ability to Work well when asked AND be calm/non-destructie in the home. We simply cannot and will not live with or breed a dog with extreme drives! Our dogs are 100% sound and posess solid nerves, it is our belief that without a solid tempernment there can be no GSD. Our breeding program is very small with 1-3 litters per year, this way we can devote many months into reaseraching the best possible match. We never have more than one litter at a time, thus our puppies recieve ALL the attention. We utelize only quality German bloodlines which have proven themselvs to produce not only excellent structure, but tempernment, health and working ability. Our breedings are geared to produce an ideal dog for SchH, work, show and most importantly, a reliable companion for today's family. We do not kennel our dogs, they live with us as part of the family. The German Shepherd was not meant to be a kennel/outside dog, they are a social breed who bond very tightly to their family and desire human companionship. I help our girls through every moment of delivery and practically "live" in the puppy room for the first 3-4wks. We never plan more than one litter at a time, this way all of our time and energy is devoted to our babies. Our puppies are exposed to common household noises, multiple surfaces, cats, other dogs, and a variety of people. Each puppy is matched individually with the desires of his/her potential owner as well as the potential of that individual puppy. All of our pupies are placed under a hip/health gaurantee, placed under contract and are reg with AKC. Our puppies are gauranteed to pass the German "a" stamp for hips.
