going where no webmasters have gone before

;) our first lesson: hello

So, you're walking along in downtown Tokyo, when out of nowhere, a small Japanese child pops up and smiles at you. What are you to say?

Ohayo! in the morning. (Oh-high-yo)

Konnichiwa! in the afternoon. (Con-knee-chi-wa)

Konban wa! in the evening. (Con-ban-wa)

;) lesson two: how are you?

Excellent. Now that you've said hello, the child will most likely ask you how you are doing. Let's find out how to respond.

O-genki desu ka? -How are you? (Oh-gen-key-deh-s-kah)

Genki desu. -I'm good. (gen-key-deh-s)

Ma-ma desu. -I'm okay. (maa-maa-deh-s)

Yokunai desu. -Not well. (yo-kuu-nah-ee-deh-s)

Byouki desu. -I'm sick. (bee-yo-key-deh-s)
