Chang Wufei

  • Family: Wife Meirang (dead).

  • Most Distinct Feature: The slicked back hair, tied in a painful-looking ponytail.
  • History: Wufei had a wife, named Meirang. When the Specials attacked their colony, Meirang was one of the people fighting against them. She was mortally wounded in the battle, and dies in Wufei's arms. She had told Wufei that she was the incarnation of the legendary hero Nataku in the past, but he had always mocked her. After her death, he calls the Shenlong Gundam 'Nataku' in Meirang's memory.
  • My option: Wufei is sort of strange, in several ways. 1) He is just a tiny bit obsessed with justice. 2) He has some sort of 'worthy' thing going on with his Gundam. He seems to think that Meirang's spirit is in Shenlong, and that if he fails, or screws up, she will no longer think him worthy of the Gundam. That’s one way to kept winning.
    He is the aloof pilot in their little group. He is solitary, and is not as close to the other pilots as, say, Quatre. He is also slightly suspicious of them all. I respect him for all three traits. He seems a little scornful of the other boys, but he is clever. He was the one who first realized the Heero had messed up on an epic scale when he destroyed a OZ plane carrying some very important people who were fighting for peace. It is good that he doesn't quite trust the other pilots, since they seem prone periods of insanity. It is good not to trust an insane guy with a deadly Gundam. You might get your head cut off with a laser saber... Anyway, I think Wufei is a good pilot, and he almost never fails. The only thing I really don't like is how he looks down at women, like Noin. He thought her weak... "Cause she's a women!" -Wufei, laughing. Maybe that because Meirang was such a brave girl that his personal standards were raised, or maybe he just thinks women are incompetent. I have no idea. Still, no matter what the reason, it is not a very nice characteristic. Noin certainly didn't appreciate it. But other then that, he's a pretty cool guy. And I like his Gundam.
