-----When Horace Jalopy moved into his new home, one of the local residents of the area, an old woman, had warned him about the property being cursed: there were tales about women, so long as they lived there, that would continue to bear children non-stop; even some men had disappeared while women who claimed to be men were found in their absence.

-----As if he were going to believe that nonsense. However, when Summer came along, he began to have serious doubts about his first assessment. Actually, he began to believe the old woman one mid-day, after he had somehow become a girl while he was tending to the yard: by mowing the lawn, trimming bushes, weeding the small garden of flowers that he had decided to take care of since they were there when he had moved in, and clearing branches that had fallen due to the weather.

-----She had told him that there wasn't much that she could do except to loan him some clothing from her attic. He didn't like it, but he decided that it was better than nothing. He didn't see her smile when he left her house.

-----He tried to figure out how to handle his situation, how to fix what had happened to his life, but soon he became distracted by the Summer heat. Unfortunately his house was old and traditional and didn't have an air system; it had been built to allow the winds in the area to enter the house and circulate. And while it had worked well enough at first, soon even that and an electric fan didn't help at all. And so he continued to feel hot and sweaty, and because of his ignorance concluded that the strange feelings in his abdomic and pelvic regions were due to the fact that he had begun to suffer from allergy symptoms.

-----Little did he know that the ground of the lot had been cursed by someone who took vengeance against a man because of some misdeed, and that man had taken pride in his bonsai trees. That had happened over a hundred years ago and, since then, the curse was introduced to the inhabitants of the house by pollen. And since pollen could easily circulate throughout the house when it was open during hot days, it was guaranteed that, outside or inside, someone would be cursed once they received enough pollen for the curse to take hold. And since pollen was how plants procreated...

-----Even now, as he lifted up the skirt of the dress that he had borrowed, he didn't realize that his body was reflecting the plants' need to reproduce. But soon he would understand, now that he realized that his new equipment was feeling hotter and stranger, and that the Summer heat and allergies couldn't be the cause.
