-----Why do people believe in deities when there is no obvious sign of them? That's what Walter wanted to find out. Had any deity ever existed; or were they all just products of early mankind, when they used their imagination to understand their world?

-----He spent his life committing to different approaches in order to obtain evidence of any sentient being with capabilities beyond the flesh. After much of his life, and many various attempts, he failed to find anything. That is until he continued his investigation, despite his advancing years and failing health.

-----Psychics had, a long time ago, been a failed approach. However, he began to wonder if he could learn from the occult and try the method himself instead of trying to rely on sources that he could neither believe nor distrust based on their word. He figured that he could trust his own decisions based on whatever he actually experienced.

-----Astral travel seemed like a good choice since he couldn't really be that active anymore at the age of seventy. It took me over a year of dedication, sometimes wondering if there was such a thing as astral travel; but, indeed, he discovered that there was such a thing. However, he was surprised to find himself, as his own spirit, inside an enclosed canopy bed. The biggest part of the surprise, however, was that he was an unimaginably gorgeous woman instead of an old man.

-----But his shock was soon put aside as he accessed the long-unused memories of his old spirit. He had once been a goddess of beauty, but she had lost power as people lost faith in her; much like how, in reality, any man that is called a god can only have such power from the support of others. And when she lost her power, she could no longer support herself in the spiritual realm and fell into the cycle of reincarnation like many other deities had.

-----She remembered her time as a goddess, and very much wanted to be free from the physical plane so she could enjoy the experiences again. But, most of all, she wanted to help those in the physical realm feel better in a way that only her nature could. She wouldn't be able to do much during the time that she used astral travel, but she planned on giving people wonderful dreams and to make sure that they would remember her name and hope that she would return if they ever wanted to see her again. For when she had enough believers, should would have enough support to escape the physical plane so she could be omnipresent and thus tend to anyone at any time when they called upon her.
