Jack, Jake and John were housemates. The rent in the area was high, but they had little other choice if they were to have a reasonable commute between the college and the jobs that had been open in the area. Their budget had been tight for a while, but they had managed a way to loosen it up some; that is with a little help from one of their neighbors and their magic.

    "I still can't believe you guys are enjoying this." Said John, who was on the right.

    "Oh, hush!" Retorted Jack, the girl on the left. "You're taking advantage of this just as much as we are."

    "But you don't see me acting all girly." John pointed out.

    "Whatever, John." Said Jake. "Really, you should show more enthusiasm! With smaller stomachs that means that we eat less, which, of course, saves money. Also, if you lay on the charm, you can get some discounts! And what about that drink you have there, huh? I bet that it didn't cost you a thing."

    "Shut up." Grumbled John, embarrassed about the source of his drink. That was part of the reason for why he didn't have much enthusiasm for drinking it.

    "Ooooh! And if we went out on dates... We could get everything free!" Declared Jack.

    "Are you feeling alright, Jack? Even I haven't thought of going that far..." Said Jake with a sidelong glance toward Jack.

    Jack giggled nervously and said, "It's probably just the cold headache I suddenly got. Oooo..."

    "Right, right..." Jake said and waved the excuse away. "Anyway, it's about time I dug in! Half off but just as good as whole price!"

    "Idiots." John thought to himself.
