Chapter Five

Back in King Kai's place in the next dimension from that of Earth, smoke is coming out of the open windows of King Kai's house. It is sunny as usual and it appears no one is home, but sounds of laughter, coughing, and hard jokes can be heard from inside the little building.
"Oh man dad you did it this time!" says Gohan looking through the smokey air at the burning hunk of an unidentified something resting on a rack of the open oven.
"Man I'm hungry..." mumbles Goku, "I can't beleive King Kai left us here by ourselves expecting us to know how to cook."
"I second that," says Yamcha rubbing his stomach and leaning in starvation on Tien's shoulder.
"Where that blue buffoon go anyway?" asks Vegita looking at Goku with red smoke filled eyes.
"I don't know," says Goku waving a pot holder around the oven's door.
"He went to go see Guru," the childish voice of Chiouzu pipes up from a blackned corner of the small house.
"Why has something happened?" asks Gohan.
"Beats me. He didn't look upset, I think he was just going to visit," Chiouzu replies.
"Oh hey! I found the doorknob!" yells Krillin as his groping hand touches a cold peice of metal.
"Open it!" the group yells simultaniously.
Krillin turns the knob and all the fighters fall out of the doorway tripping over each other and gasping for fresh air. Tien and Yamcha put their hands on their knees and breath hard. Krillin and Gohan have their heads ducked under the water of the nearby pond. Vegita just coughs and looks hatefully at Goku.
"You stupid! Don't ever try cooking again!" Vegita yells at him.
"Hey! You were hungry too!" yells Goku back.
"I wasn't ready to suffocate everybody over it!" Vegita shoots back.
"What are we going to do now?" asks Gohan lifting his wet head out of the pond.
"Yeah, we already mowed the lawn, weeded the garden, dusted and mopped," says Krillin blinking water out of his eyes.
"Well, building King Kai a new house might be a start," says Tien, "Look at it."
The group looks at the blackened window sills and stained walls. They all think it looks a little tilted from when Goku and Vegita had run into it while sparring earlier. They all groan again and rub their stomachs.
"Well, we're just gonna have to make do," says Goku, "If we went to go get King Kai now it would upset him. We can find ways to entertain ourselves."
"Yeah, what about target practice?" asks Vegita, "I need to work on my accuracy "
"I need help with my aim too," Krillin agrees.
"Where are we gonna find a target?" asks Yamcha.
All the fighters look at one another deciding who each wanted it to be. Then they all meet eyes and grins sweep over all of their face. Tien turns around and looks at the furry brown animal sitting in a nearby tree.
"Ohhh Bubbles," he calls.
The monkey looks up with large frightened eyes. Bubbles jumps off the tree limb and begins to run around histarically. Everyone chases after the animal which leads to several head bumbs and skinned knees but finally Gohan manages to capture the creature.
"Way to go son!" yells Goku brushing off his dusty orange gi, "Took me three weeks to catch Bubbles."
Vegita takes the monkey in his hand and holds it to a tree while Yamcha begins tying it with a rope.
"What's going on here?!" the voice of King Kai yells.
All the figher's eyes open wide and they all turn around innocently to look at King Kai.
"Oh, King Kai, your back," mumbles Yamcha.
"Yes I'm back! Untie Bubbles right now!" he scolds thwacking Krillin in the head with a traveling staff he was carrying, "Something horrible has happened!"

Piccolo and Nail burst into Dende's hall banging the doors in excitement. Dende looks up from his throne startled.
"I know what we have to do," says Piccolo.
"You have a plan?" ask Dende hopefully.
"Yes!" says Piccolo.
"What is it?" asks Dende
"Well, Nail and I have been thinking and resolved the best way to get rid of him is to get him when he's most defenseless," Piccolo answers.
"Well obviously," mumbles Dende, "So what do we need to do?'
"You leave it to us," corrects Nail.
"Daimao's being sent to Earth as a child started his whole reign of terror right?" asks Piccolo, "Then the best way to get rid of him here is to get rid of him there...Nail and I want to go back to Namek during the time of the windstorms and nip Daimao's evil in the bud!"
Dende stared at the two in amazement and finds himself at a loss of words. He waits for them to continue.
"That way, we can destroy Daimao when he won't have a chance," says Piccolo, "And the rest of you can stay here to defend Earth from him now until we complete our mission."
"But Piccolo, if you kill Daimao there, then you never would have been born," says Dende, "When you return to this time you will die won't you?"
"No, because I am not tied to him like Kami was," Piccolo says, "I'll be fine."
"All we need you to do is open the time portal in the Pendalum room for us," says Nail.
"So what do you think of it?" asks Piccolo grinning in his own cunningness.
"If you two go, will the others be strong enough to hold Daimao and his team off?" asks Dende considering all possible wrong goings of the plan.
"If they aren't, then you can contact Namek and ask some of the soldiers there to come," Nail says, "I have many friends who would come if they need help."
"And what if you two die back in the past?" asks Dende.
"Up against a kid?" asks Piccolo, "Yeah, right. He'll still be in his egg."
"You forget Piccolo," reminds Dende, "You asked to go back during the time of the Great Storms, the storms are what you have to fear."
"Dende, I think we can do it!" says Nail, "Please brother, you must have faith in us. Guru would not have let us had this vision if it would be that great of a danger."
"This plan will greatly anger Daimao when he finds out," says Dende, "But I do beleive that that plan is perhaps all we've got....I'll open the portal."
