WARNING!! If you have not seen all of Gundam Wing and want to be suprised, do NOT read this! It contains information that happens later on in the series and it will spoil the show for you!!! I suggest you wait until you've seen most of the show to read this! Don't say I didn't warn you!!!
WuFei Chang (or Chang WuFei, depending on how you want to say it...)
WuFei is Chinese, an expert at martial arts. His gundam is probably the strongest of the five, except maybe for Heero's. He has black hair in a small ponytail and dark eyes. He appears to be very sexist against females (ie. when he wouldn't kill Noin because she's a girl, all those times he's scoffed and insited that females shouldn't be fighting 'cause they're weak, yada yada yada). He kills Triez, though later he wishes he didn't ("Damn! I......never thought...I'd win....") He pilots the Shenlong Gundam, and later the Altron Gundam, I have heard him call both "Nataku".
Trowa Barton
Trowa is a quiet, serious, and overall very mysterious character. Not much is known about his past or family. Considering his serious nature, it is kind of ironic that while concealing his identity as a Gundam pilot, for a while he acts as a clown in a circus. While working at the circus, he meets a girl named Cathrine (i think), and she often gives words of advice to him and other Gundam pilots and once stopped Trowa from self-detinating. Later on, he joins OZ to further hide his identity. He is very good friends with Quatre. During Quatre's "crazy period" when he wanted to destroy the space colonies, Trowa snapped him out of it, but Quatre did (accidentily, he was trying to hit Heero) give him one crushing blow with the ZERO. That caused Trowa's MS to explode, and sent Trowa blasting through space. We didn't see him for a few episodes, and then, when we see him again, he has lost his memory and is living with Cathrine, because she said to him that she is his sister. He works at the circus again, but always with a feeling that there's something that he can't remember. Something horrible, which leaves him cold and scared, as well as sad. That horrible thing is the war and awful fighting he's been through. Later, Duo Maxwell and Hilde are at the circus and Duo spots Trowa. He tried to knock Trowa out of it but to no avail. Later, Quatre visited Trowa (Duo told him where to find Trowa), and Trowa joined them, but he hadn't fully recovered his memory yet (he does, later). He pilots the gundam HeavyArms. His hair is very strange, on one side it falls over his eyes (must show how mysterious he is). It's really funny, though, cuz when he looks up, his hair sticks straight up above his eyes.
Heero Yuy (or Yui... there are some arguments on that one)
Heero is the character this whole series is mostly based on. He was brought up, even as a child, as a trained, professional assasin (cool!), which is what makes him the "Perfect Soldier", he is free of emotions and feelings which would hold him back from killing. He often seems cold, emotion-less, and cruel. Relena Peacecraft was the first person to know that he is a Gundam pilot, and he threatened many times to kill her. He hasn't yet, and I doubt that he ever will. Even he has enough feelings not to do that. In fact, later on, they are friendly with each other ^_^, and he saves her life. He has dark, usually slightly untidy brown hair, and dark bluish eyes. Heero is a very strong Gundam pilot, he pilots Wing Gundam, and later, Wing Zero. He saves the Earth by blowing up a piece of Libra that was on a collision course with Earth. It was very hard to do, but he came out alive, and that made the episode all the better. ^_^
Duo Maxwell
Duo is the friendly, outgoing one, the jokester of the group who always has an interesting comment and a smile on his face. He later meets a girl named Hilde who used to work for OZ, and they become friends. She, like Duo himself, is very friendly and outgoing. Hilde really wants to help Duo and the other Gundam pilots, but she fears that she is too weak. She's pretty coo', I think. I'm convinced that she and Duo are going out, and if they aren't, they will. They're just too good of friends and they're too damn nice to each other not to ^_^. Duo and Heero don't really get along very well, considering the great difference in their personalities. They're complete opposites of each other. It's weird, that with such conflicting personalities, they end up working together often. Duo calls himself the "god of death" which really doesn't fit his happy, and often humorously sarcastic personality. Duo has dark blue eyes and looooooooong brown hair which he keeps in a braid all the time. Unfortunatly because of this he is sometimes mistaken for a girl. (yikes!) He pilots the Gundam Deathscythe, and later, Deathscythe HELL.
Quatre Raberba Winner
By far my favorite character, Quatre is just too cute!!! But that's off the subject, isn't it? Quatre is a sweet, warmhearted person, which is surprising and unusual for a Gundam pilot, considering the others (with maaaaaaaybe the exception of Duo, and even that's pushin it) are ruthless and don't think twice about killing someone in their way to victory. Quatre, on the other hand, doesn't like to kill, he feels it is wrong. But, if necessary, he will fight. Some people think him weak for this. I think it makes him all the more stronger. Once, Dorothy Catalonia challenged him to a duel, and she was using the ZERO system. He could have easily beaten her, but he held back and tried to talk her out of it. It hurt him very, very badly, mainly because she shot him in the arm and stabbbed him, but he eventually got her to listen, and Trowa helped have her join their side. Quatre doesn't like to be a burden to people. He comes from a family unlike the other Gundam pilots'. His father is a wealthy pacifist who dies at the hands of the colonists whom Quatre as a Gundam pilot, protected. For a while, Quatre went crazy over this and decided to destroy the colonies, using Wing ZERO. Thankfully, Trowa snapped him out of it, but that almost cost Trowa his life. Anyways, Quatre is the youngest in his family, having 29 older sisters (ay yi yi...), one of which dies the same day as his father. By the way, some people have mistakenly said that Quatre is a test-tube baby. He isn't. His sisters all are, but he isn't. His mom died giving birth to him, though (aww...) Being the only male heir, even though he's the youngest, he will inherit his father's assets. Quatre has 40 soldiers who will protect him at all costs, but in the later episodes, we don't see them much (and when they do, somehow they just seem to show up, and we have no idea how they get there or how they know that Quatre is even there). Quatre is the "brain" of the group, he is responsible for making all their battle plans, figuring out stratagies and such, mostly in the later episodes. He is an accomplished musician, poet, and artist. He pilots the gundam Sandrock. His hair is a soft gold, and he has blue/green eyes. (very cute, I might add ^_^)
Zechs Merquise (thank you, o kind person who sent in how to spell his last name!)
Zechs Merquise, A.K.A. Milliardo Peacecraft has a more-than-slightly confusing backround. His father, a pacifist and leader of the total pacifism nation, the Sanc Kingdom. After his father's death, the Sanc kingdom crumbled. He decided to become an OZ officer, hoping, I believe, that they would bring peace to the Sanc kingdom and all other nations, as well as the colonies. He felt bad that he was going against his father's idea of total pacifism, and so he wore a mask to hide his face (a big mistake, I think. He looks sooooooo much cooler without his mask) and changed his name to "Zechs Merquise". Later on he chooses to take off his mask, discontinue working for OZ, call himself "Milliardo Peacecraft" again, and work more towards the peace of the Sanc Kingdom. But soon he realizes that peace cannot be obtained without military power, so once more he dons his mask and calls himself "Zechs Merquise" and works towards fighting OZ in his magnificent white Mobile Suit, the Tallgeese (and later, the darker, maroon colored Epyon). It is also reaveled that Zechs/Milliardo has a sister, who is none other than Relena Dorlain/Peacecraft. He tells her of this and she chooses to once again become Princess of the Sanc kingdom and rule it, for Zechs believes that with all the killing he's done, he is not fit to rule a pacifist nation. At this point, with the fall of the Sanc kingdom, he has removed his mask once again, calling himself "Millardo Peacecraft", he has joined White Fang (a rebel group determined to free the colonies by destroying Earth) as its leader. No one knows what happened to him, only that he's somewhere in space. One thing about him that's interesting is he always wants his battles to be fair fights. He hates to battle against someone with any kind of handicap. He wants the battle to be a true test of which person is the better. Zechs is a pilot with amazing skill, deserving of the nickname "Lightning Count". He has long, white hair and light blue eyes.
Relena Peacecraft
Relena Peacecraft, A.K.A. Relena Dorlain, was not told until her "father" died that she was not his daughter. She was told that she was not Relena Dorlain, but Relena Peacecraft, princess of the Sanc Kingdom, a pacifist nation. Later she takes on the role of the princess, and helps strive for peace in all nations. Unfortunatly, the Romefeller Foundation looked apon the total pacifist nation of the Sanc Kingdom as a problem, and invaded it. Though with 2 Gundams on her side, Epyon and Sandrock, plus the help of Quatre's faithful soldiers as well as her own led by Lt. Noin, PLUS the help of the Triez faction (which she could have called if she wanted to come help her), and Zechs (who was on the way), she did not want total pacifism to cause wars. She gave in, ordering that the fighting cease, she had surrendered and fighting would be useless. At this point, she becomes "Queen of the World" and now works as chief representative of the Romefeller Foundation. She declares that the nations of the world should put aside their boundaries, which have been the cause of wars for centuries, and join together to become one nation, which is called (oh this is creative) The World Nation. Triez kicked her out of the Chief Representative position when the White Fang arose. When her brother Milliardo joined the White Fang group, she risked her life to try to talk him out of it. She did not succeed, but with Heero's help, made it out alive. In the end, she works in politics (who didn't see that coming?!), and she and Heero are on much better terms. He gives her a birthday present (a teddy bear and a card). And, just for fun, she rips the card in half just like he did to her birthday invitation, not so long ago. She has long, dark blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She has no mobile suit because she couldn't pilot one if her life depended on it.
Lt. Noin
One of my absolute favorite characters, Lucrezia Noin (something like that) used to be an OZ soldier, and a good one at that. She worked under Zechs, whom she loves. She would do anything for Zechs, I know that. Anyways, working at OZ she became an excellent pilot. Soon, though, Zechs broke away from OZ and Noin followed. They joined up with the Sanc Kingdom, Zechs's home. After he went off on the Tallgeese looking for the Gundams, the two didn't see each other much for a while. But Noin never forgot him as she worked at the Sanc Kingdom, working on the nation's defenses, even though Relena didn't like the idea of military power in a pacifist nation. When Quatre and Heero made it to the Sanc Kingdom, Noin gave them advice and they helped her protect Relena and the Sanc Kingdom until Relena surrendered to the Romefeller Foundation. She fought along side the gundams during the White Fang trouble, but later you see that it troubled her deeply to be fighting against Zechs. Noin has dark purple/blue hair which she keeps short and it sort of falls over one eye. She has no definite mobile suit of her own, while working under OZ she used whatever she could get her hands on- Aries, Leo, whatever (usually a green Aries, which is kinda weird...they're ususally purple), but later on when she joins up with the Sanc Kingdom, and battles against White Fang. Lt. Noin's mobile suits are always a different color than the standards. For instance, she uses a forest green Aeris and a white Taurus.
Lady Une
Lady Une is a special agent for OZ. She appears to have a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad case of multiple personalities (so it seems). At first, she is a cold, heartless, woman who would do anything to win, perhaps so that Triez would think well of her. Later on, however, when OZ is trying to unify the colonies and bring peace, she is kinder, perhaps even gentle. But she seems to switch back and forth between these two personalities, and it often drives her mad, trying to figure out which to be, the merciless killer, Colonel Une, or the gentle and sweet Lady Une. Apparently she chooses the sweet Lady Une, for she abandons OZ to save two of the Gundam pilots' lives from Romefeller. This was a suicide mission. She did free Duo Maxwell and WuFei Chang from captivity, but it nearly cost her her life. She did live however, and she worked with Triez, who, at the time, was the chief representative for the Romefeller foundation, a position that he stole from Relena, to defeat the White Fang and bring about peace. During this time and after, when Triez is dead, she chose to be the kind, gentle Lady Une. She loves Triez Kushrenada with all her heart, and he loves her in return. It was a sad, sad time when Triez died and left his dear Lady Une. She has no specific mobile suit. During her "Colonel Une" periods, she wears her long brown hair in braids, in a "Princess Leia" (Star Wars) style, sort of. During her "Lady Une" periods, she wears her hair down in a more feminine style. Also, during "Colonel Une" periods, she wears her glasses. In "Lady Une" periods, she does not.
Triez Kushrenada
Elegant and noble, Triez is a true gentleman. He has strong traditionalist beliefs, and likes to do things the old-fashioned way. He was the leader of OZ up until the point when mobile dolls came into usage. Then he realized he didn't like the path OZ was taking. He resigned from OZ and was banished to a certain OZ territory. There he lived out his days, while a group within OZ, calling themselves the Triez Faction, fought for his sake against the tyranies of OZ. Heero later meets him, with the intention of killing him, and instead is given a special mobile suit Triez built, the Epyon. When the White Fang arises, Triez takes over as Chief Representative of the World Nation (a fancy way of saying he's da King of da World! and the leader of Romefeller) He is killed by WuFei.
Hilde Schbeiker (thanks to all who helped me spell it!)
Hilde is an idealist girl who wants to help the colonies with all her soul. Unfortunatly, she turns to OZ to help her do so. She joins a special team of young colonists who want to help OZ's cause and bring peace to the colonies. (As you can see, this is during the period in time when OZ is tricking the colonies into hating the Gundams) She is a very good soldier, and very dedicated. She meets Duo, and tells him he should sign up next week. He says he just might do that. It's time for the OZ group to go out on a mission with some new recruits, when Hilde sees Duo. He's got an application (fake of course) and is trying to sneak on. Hilde calls him, and tells him to show her the application. He steals a mobile suit and busts outta there. Hilde follows him. They join in a battle, until Hilde screams to him, "THIS ONE'S FOR THE PEACE OF THE COLONIES!!" and Duo realizes they're fighting for the same cause. He tries to convince her that they're not enemies, but Hilde takes it as his pleading for his life. Duo ends up saving her from a Mobile Doll. She tells him she's prepared to die at any moment, she doesn't need sympathy from the enemy. Duo is captured, and Hilde is sent to get information from him. He tells her all about the fact that the whole time he was fighting to bring the colonies back their smiles, but then it turns out they don't want their smiles back. He asks her when did the colonies get so twisted? She is touched by his words, but pretends they mean nothing. Duo sneaks out and steals a mobile suit (again) and Hilde once again follows him. This time, though, she isn't going to kill him. She protects him from a Mobile Doll, and blasts a hole in the Lunar Base so that Duo can sneak in. She is fully prepared to die, but a higher-ranking officer stops the Mobile Dolls from killer her and tells her there's a serious problem with her conduct. Hilde leaves the OZ group, and later joins up with Duo. They are good friends. She has short, dark purple hair and blue eyes. She has no specific mobile suit. While working for OZ she piloted a standard Leo.
Sally Po
Unfortunatly, I know little of Sally Po. I believe she used to work for the Alliance, as a medical officer. She broke away, becoming part of a rouge group of fighters, working as a fighter/medical worker. She stumbles upon WuFei's gundam, and WuFei himself. He tells her that she and her group shouldn't fight, seeing as they are weak. She eventually helps him get over his fear of being unworthy of Nataku, and he protects their group during an important battle. She later joins up with WuFei and the others in their fight against Libra and the White Fang. If anyone has more info on Sally, please, please, please send it to me!
