Answering to Darkness' Song

The crying, the crying, the crying of nightbirds that mournfully wail to the shadows of moonlight and reel 'gainst the stars in their sorrowful flight. The flight, their plight, the Hunted at night who flee from the ravening clutches of something, something, fetid and hulking, which lurches 'cross puddles of quivering darkness to maim, and tear and worry the belly of trembling shadows to songs of the cryings of hungering babes in far away lands where the rain never falls. The rains, the storms, the sighs of the earth which rise with the kisses of tears from the sky. And scorching and burning is Heaven's green eye as the kisses of gods caress the parched land. Sister and Sister, the Earth and the Sky and they vie for a lover that cannot be seen or felt or have humbly knelt at feet to do a heart's bidding. But always the shadow and always the night and always the darkness and sight-seering blight of carnage and pest'lence, despair and new hope. Hope, hope, a rose in the desert to which drops of nectar still cling in the breath of the Dragon of Light and fall and tumble to lay against earth and consummate love and bring forth new life, true life, new strife for the trembling shadows which slouch towards the cradles of firstborns and lastborns. And shrieking and crying and wheeling in night are the birds, the birds in their agonied flight for they've seen the shadows and they've felt the breathing and they know the hunger of Sightblinder's seething. The paws of the Beast with its shadow-furred hide and vile-scented spittle which shimmers and gleams with the beauty of stars and galaxies far that swirl through the Heavens in organized chaos, colliding and merging and tearing and spawning and burning so sweetly from eons long past through a present ephemeral to future so fragile and fire and fire and gyre inspire the mind to create and the mind to destroy in the feeble-fast flicker of one human's candle before the crude Beast with its beautiful eyes sniff-snuffles and *piff!* sputters out.
