Played by: Kristen
Character Info
Name: Sai Kohana
Meaning: Talented (Japanese) Swift (Lakota)
Nick-name: Sai
Age: 17
Sex: Female
Physical Description: Sai is 5'1" tall (short for her race, but she can deal around it). She has waist length platinum blonde hair (which isn't all that fluffy...it's cut kind of jagged, too), with her bangs brushed back behind her ears. Speaking of ears, her's are tall and pointy (she is an elf, after all). Her eyes are medium sized, slanted, and blue--royal blue. She has a small nose and a small mouth. Sai is skinny; she's not obviously muscled, but she has a lanky strength. She wears light colored clothing, in all fashions, although she does prefer the airy garments of her home planet.
Mental Description: Sai is always happy; she's always found smiling, unless something major is bothering her. She doesn't worry about much; instead, she makes a joke out of it and laughs it off. She's happiest when sitting with her friends, talking. Because of this, she is very loyal to her friends. When she does have occasion to worry, it's about them. No matter what their problem, Sai can be found working alongside them. A dreamer, Sai wishes that she could be a senshi--she wants to fight with Senko and save the universe. She also dreams of meeting a Prince Charming somewhere in her travels. She's the type who giggles over guys, but will not become obsessed.
Hobbies: Talking to her friends, cracking jokes, reading (mostly legends and romance), running, meditating
History: Sai is from Innas, the planet where the ancient race of Elves made their home. One of the Light Elves, Sai lived in her tribe's (the Sun Blossom tribe) section of a major city. Even under the mingled conditions imposed in a large city, each tribe managed to maintain the Old Ways--including the leadership of the tribe. In the tribe's shaman's 50th year, as was the tradition, the Elders waited for the naming of her successor, who would train until the shaman died. They were surprised to note the illumination of a twelve year old during in a citywide race: Sai Kohana. The Elders, while wary ofen trusting the spiritual well being of their tribe to a child, agreed that she must be given the position or the High Ones would be displeased.
After the Naming Ceremony, Sai developed the usual powers of a shaman (sensitivity to Fate, aura reading, healing, and the like), but also came into some strange powers. She could call down the white blazes of the High Ones, teleport, and she later received a black steel sword in a dream. She named the sword Erilainen, and could call it up when sufficienty powered. The Elders and the shaman were stunned. Could Sai be one of the High Ones' Chosen?
Before much research and training could be put into her, though, Sai was drawn away from Innas. A traveler named Senko had befriended the young 16 year old, telling her about her plans to travel the universe. Sai, ever the dreamer, found the idea to be utterly romantic, and volunteered to come along as a maid, a chauffeur, anything, as long as she could accompany Senko.
The Elders were loath to let her leave, but the shaman backed her up. She claimed that Sai would learn more about herself on such a trip, and may even learn the truth behind her identity and powers. Besides, doesn't she need to mature? So, off Sai went with Senko!
She had a wonderful time traveling with her new friend, seeing all the exotic and mysterious planets. Sai loved learning about other cultures and cities, meeting different people, and trying new foods. She learned a lot, just as the shaman had supposed, and she definitely matured.
When the pair was drawn to an out of the way corner of the universe, Sai waited nervously as Senko was called forward alone. She could feel that Fate began here; its essence was covering from all directions like a thick, invisible fog. This would be the turning point, she knew. Senko told her about the Gates of Time and what she had learned. Sai had known nothing of the so called "Sailor Soldiers" before, but Senko explained their history. As it was all revealed, Sai felt Fate at her back, tickling her spine.
Now is the Fight. Nowwe must stand. Now we must win. Or all is lost.
Powers Over: Sensing Fate in generalities (An "I've got a bad feeling about this" sort of thing; no actual images), reading auras (she can tell if someone's disturbed or not, and what color their aura is. Maybe she can see the special aura of a senshi), healing (nothing too complicated...she doesn't do surgery), teleportation, white fire (very hot and painful, but doesn't leave a mark), can call her sword, Erilainen.
Weapon: A sword made from black steel called Erilainen (Finnish for"different")
Affiliation: Good Guys
Senshi Appearance/Fuku: She wears whatever she happens to be wearing at the time. She doesn't have tranformation powers.
Power1: Teleportion...no fancy name. She can teleport about 10 people anywhere she's been, and do it very quickly (hence the "swift" in her name). She doesn't
need very much power to do this, although the number of people involved lessens with how tired she gets.
Power2: "Glory Blaze!" Sai raises both hands over her head and white lightning snaps down from the sky to her fingertips. Her entire body lights up, and she
smiles. She throws her hands down, and the lightning transfers to the ground, where it forms a wall of white flame about 3 ft wide and 3 ft tall that spreads out over the distance between her and her target. It lasts for approximately 30 sec. after fully spreading. Water will not put it out; only wind works. Fire might work, too. Causes a burning feeling and zaps energy.
Power3: "Fate Sealer!" Sai holds Erilainen straight out in front of her, and stops moving. Lightning strikes from the sky and channels in her head and down
through her arms to the sword. A glowing white ball grows at the tip of the sword, and is released when it is about 1 ft in diameter. It flies towards Sai's enemy, leaving a trail of stardust behind it (it's
very hot...touching it would probably burn your skin off). The ball itself explodes against the opponent, causing extreme pain and burning. It may not, however, leave a mark except through clothing. A shield made from some special metal (haven't thought of it yet, prolly steel) will stop it, as will someone ducking or dodging.
