Sage has the gift of wisdom and speaks wise advice to his comrades. But unless the need for him to say something arises, he doesn't say much at all. He would fall into the category 'strong, silent type'. Although not as physically strong as Kento, he is definitely strong in spirit. He is very cunning and intelligent and likes to have plans before battling, and that could be part of the reason he and Rowen get along so well together. He is known as both the Ronin Warrior of Light and the Ronin Warrior of Wisdom and is considered to be third in command. He will spend so much time thinking which leads him open to attacks. His armor has the ability to heal others as well as the ability to create light. Sage is the complete antithesis of Cale. His sword emits light while Cale's absorbs light. He was the one who figured out that although the armors came from Talpa, it was what was inside the wearer's heart that made the armor a force of goodness or evil. His power wields the energies of life, light and lightning. Kento calls him Casanova while the others call him pretty-boy because of his unfathomable charm which draws girls around him. All the girls at Han'a High just adore him. Sage is an uncontrollable flirt! Sage was rebellious when he was younger and his grandfather taught him bonzai and bamboo flute to teach him restraint. His father is a police officer and practices kendo while his mother is second only in the family dojo (only her father outranks her). His father married into the Date clan. His grandfather was in-charge of Sage's upbringing and taught him the ways of the Bushi (warrior). Sage has two sisters, Yayoi, who practices kendo and is a medical student is five years older, and Satsuki, who is two years younger. He is the more serious warrior and tends to keep the others at a distance and generally keeps to the task at hand. He follows his own intuition and experience in battles. Sage is an expert swordsman and seems to have an affinity for deer. Yayoi teases Sage alot and it makes it very hard for him to talk to girls. Satsuki speaks normally unlike her older siblings (Yayoi and Sage speak formal Japanese). Sage's family descended from Date Masamune, a famous general who built a castle in Sendai, the prefectural capital of Miyagi. Sage lives in the outskirts of Sendai, in the family dojo, which he will one day inherit. He is known as the 'young master.'
