A Christmas Story

Goku holds the newborn Goten close in the warmth of his arms. A snowflake falls onto his nose and he smiles.
Vegeta stares at at Goku and *hmmmphed* at him. "What is so fascinating about a stupid little white speck Kakarotto?"
"It's called snow Vegeta and it's the best part about Christmas time." He catches a snowflake on his tongue and smiles down at the shorter saiyan. "Come on Vegeta try it."
"NO."
"Awww come on Vegeta."
"Eigu ga wakarimasu ka?! I said NO damnit and I mean it!"
Bulma squeezes her husband's arm and smiles. "Don't be such a spoiled sport, snow is fun. Me and Goku used to catch snowflakes on our tongues when we were little and we still do it cause it's nothing but ice flakes that's all. Oh and snowmen are the best part!"
"Nani!? Snowmen? What in the hell is a snowman," Vegeta hitches up an eyebrow.
Bulma straightens Trunks little snow cap so as to keep him from catching a cold. The one year old squirmed a little then snuggled his head into her coat colar.
Chi Chi chirps in," a snowman is a big pretend person made out of snow with 3 big snowballs piled on top of each other. Goku and Gohan will show you how when the snow gets thick enough. Isn't that right Gohan?"
The 7 year old Gohan looks up at his mother and grins. "Sure mom, sounds great. Making snowmen is lots of fun."
"Fun is for the weak," Vegeta mutters.
The snow began to fall in thick torrents and Vegeta stared in disgust as Goku and Gohan ran off into the field and began a snowball fight.
Chi Chi runs over to retrieve her baby son who was still in Goku's arms. She left Bulma and Vegeta alone on the sidewalk.
"Hmmmmph, they are all a bunch of children!"
"Oh relax Vegeta, it's snowing! Enjoy yourself a little! Go on, go have fun!"
"I most certainly will not! Im not about to run about like a child throwing stupid balls of ice at people, making a fool of myself! I am the Prince of all Saiy.."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, the prince of saiyans, the mighty ruler of Vegeta-sei," Bulma rolls her eyes. Thinking, she dares herself to kiss Vegeta to see if it would help cheer the grouch up. Bulma sets Trunks down and grabs a surprised Vegeta and gives him the hardest and most passionate kiss she had ever given him.
Vegeta struggles a little, but relaxes and pulls her closer to him holding her tightly in his embrace.
Goku stops when he sees whats going on and all the squeeling and yelling fell silent as they witnessed the two kissing.
Vegeta and Bulma fall into a pile of snow drift and continue kissing having fun with their little make out session.
Chi Chi grins and covers Gohan's eyes. "Not for little boys like you Gohan," she replies with a giggle.
goku smiles," I always knew they loved each other.."
Vegeta and Bulma finally stop and stare at each other smiling for the longest time.
"I knew it would work," Bulma sings in her head.
Vegeta sits up brushing the snow off trying to regain he dignity. " I'm such a Baka for giving in so easily, but I do have to admit...that was one hellavuh kiss!"
"They saw us damnit," Vegeta grumbled.
"Of course they did Vegeta, that's okay we'r married and that gives us the right to do anything we want."
"So."
"So, that gives us the right to do what we want together."
That didn't make Vegeta feel any better.
Suddenly Bulma shoved a snowball into Vegeta's face and ran off giggling to hide behind Goku with little Trunks toddling after his mother.
Vegeta growls and runs after his mate. "I'll get you and shove this damn white stuff in your face if it's the last thing I do!"
Goku smiles,"He's finally joined us in a game Gohan."
Gohan laughs as Bulma sprinted away dodging a spray of snow from Vegeta.
Vegeta finally catches up with Bulma and shoves a rather large snowball into her face.
She screams with joy at having gotten Vegeta to play a game with her she smiles up at the saiyan who was near lauging as well.
Suddenly a snowball hits Vegeta full in the face with a loud SPLAT! "RRRRRRRRRR KAKAROOOOOOOOTT!" A vein pops from his forhead and he throws hand fulls of snow at Goku and he accually starts laughing when Goku slips and falls on his ass.
Bulma wriggles from Vegeta's grasp and starts to skip off but Vegeta runs after her still laughing at Goku.
"Oh no you don't! You can't escape from the mighty Vegeta!" He propells himself by flying to catch up with her.
Suddenly a car comes speeding round a corner swerving drunkly in Bulma's direction.
Vegeta gasps and blasts as fast as he can to save Bulma from it's path. "BULMAAAaaa NOOO!"
It all happens slowly for Vegeta as he shoved Bulma out of the way. The car smacks into him with a sickening THUMP and sends him flying into the snow where he landed unmoving. The pain was unbearable as he coughs up a large amount of blood.
"OH NO! VEGETA!" Goku runs to Vegeta's side as Chi Chi helps Bulma to her feet.
The pain Vegeta felt was similar to the pain he felt when Freiza killed him back on Namek. He wished this didn't hurt so much but knew there was no stopping what had already happend.
"Vegeta don't move," Goku orders the prince as he inspects Vegeta's injuries. "Their bad," he thinks sadly. "I'v got to get him to the hospital."
Chi Chi takes the crying Trunks into her arms as Gohan held his little brother.
Vegeta tried to move but screamed in agony as his broken ribs grinded together.
Bulma's nose bled and her eye was swollen. She tastes blood and realizes her lip was split. "Oh god, I hope Vegeta is okay," she wimpers as she starts to cry.
The driver of the car sat unconsious in his seat as a crowd began to gather.
Goku stares down at the crumpled Vegeta.
Vegeta coughs up more blood and moans loudly.
"Please don't move Vegeta, you'll only make it worse. I'm gonna take you to the hospital okay so hang on."
Vegeta only stared at the sky blindly mumbling something if bulma was okay.
"She's fine Vegeta just a little shocked and bruised."
Vegeta didn't know what Goku was saying but he hoped it was good news. The world around him begins to swirl around him as he heard Bulma sobbing his name from nearby. He knew Chi Chi was holding her back from seeing Vegeta's horrible condition. He manages a smile and mumbles something to Goku. "Tell her...d..don't cry. R...remember I told her that crying was for the...w...weak..I...ACK.." He falls unconsious as Goku quickly put his fingers to his forhead and teleported them to the hospital.
As soon as Goku got to the hospital a team of doctors saw him with Vegeta in his arms and rushed over with a stretcher. Vegeta is them layed on it and rushed to the emergency room leaving Goku standing alone in the hallway. "Poor Vegeta," Goku whispers with a sad voice.
~LATER~
Bulma sits in the waiting room with her parents trying to sooth her from being to worried.
Chi Chi and the kids sat next to them with Goku pacing the floor. He and Bulma seemed to be the most worried for Vegeta since they both knew that Vegeta was a very caring person when he wanted to be.
Bulma's sore eye was begging to irriate her.
Goku notices and reaches into the little pouch pulling out his last sensu bean. He breaks it in half hoping to save the other half for Vegeta. "Here Bulma, eat this. It will help you get your strength back and make the bruises and pain go away."
Mr. Briefs watches as Bulma popped it into her mouth and began chewing with slight difficulty.
"Ugh, these things are so hard," she thinks. Swallowing she instantly feels her body begin to heal and the pain subside. Her full strength returned and she stood up and hugging Goku hard. "Argatou Goku, your such a good friend."
"No problem Bulma," he replies while smiling down at her.
Goten wimpered a little and Chi Chi fumbles in her baby bag for a bottle. She smiles and finds a full one and pops it into the little saiyan's mouth. She knew she had to feed Goten every hour, Saiyans had big appetites.
Goku smiles as Chi Chi fed the little bundle in her arms and looked down at Gohan who was keeping the rowdy trunks busy by playing hand games with him.
Suddenly a doctor walks in. Everyone stands up waiting to hear the news.
He walks over to Bulma and replies,"Your husband is in critical condition. He'll be lucky if he survives the night...Gomen nasi Bulma-sama. Would you like to see him? Your friends and parents may come as well."
When Bulma and the gang entered the room they found Vegeta wrapped up almost from head to toe. His unruly Saiyan hair seemed even messier than usual.
"He's in a coma, the doctor explained, but I'm sure he would enjoy everyone's company."
"Yeah right," everyone thought with nervous sweatdrops on their heads.
Goku takes the sensu bean half and hands it to Bulma. "Here Bulma-sama, crumble it up a bit so he can swallow it."
Bulma nods and walks over to Vegeta's side and stares down at him. "I hope you appreciate this Vege-chan.." She then crumbles the sensu and opens his mouth, dropping in the crumbs.
Goku wonders if half a sensu bean would make Vegeta wake up. At the extent of his injuries he doubted that Vegeta would awaken. "It will heal some of his bruises though," he thinks. "I should call on Corrain and see if he has more sensu beans ready for me yet."
Bulma frowns when only a few bruises disappear. "I guess one half didn't work."
Chi Chi rests her hand on Bulma's shoulder. "Don't worry, he'll be okay. If I know Goku he'll find a way to save Vegeta."
Goku nod, "Im going to Corrain's now, I'll be back shortly." He walks over to a window and carefully opens it and calls out. "Flying Nimbus!" Instantly a little yellowish gold cloud flies down and rests on the window's ledge. Goku hops on and shivers, "Brrrr it's cold!"
"Wait! Here's your coat Goku!" Chi Chi runs over and hands her husband his jacket.
"Awwww Chi Chi ya didn't have to but thanks..I feel all cozy and warm now." He lifts off and then disappears in a flash of cloud dust.

Vegeta feels so distant. He can hear Bulma talking soothingly to him. He even feels her holding his hand, but why couldn't he see her? He had to wake up and tell her he was okay. He began to panic. He was starting to drift into the blackness again and it made him extremely tired; the more closer he got to it. He fought the pull of the dark and returns to the warmth where he knew he'd be safe for a while. "I can't die, I won't allow it! Dying will only prove my weakness. I'm not even a damn super saiyan yet! Plus, that brat of a child needs me or Bulma will make him soft. And what good will it be when you have a soft Saiyan warrior?" Vegeta can't resist closing his eye as he curls up into a fetal position. "So tired...musn't think to much..I must save my strength. Bulma..."

Goku flies the hundred miles to Corrains in the driving snow storm. He must not give up, Vegeta depended on him. He knew Vegeta had a good heart. He had proven that so many times before including today when he and Bulma kissed and he saved her life. "Nimbus, don't give up on me," he whispers into the puffy cloud. "I have confidence in you and we'r almost there." Goku arrives at Corrain's an hour later and recieves a handful of sensu beans into his pouch.
The little white cat waves to Goku as he sets off back to West Capital. "Take care Goku, you're the man!"

Vegeta knows it's a matter of hours before he will die but he continues to fight. He wanted to hold Bulma right now...he felt so cold. He wanted to tell her he loved her and he was sorry for his horrid pride. "I CAN'T DIE,"he yells at the blackness. "I WILL NOT LEAVE BULMA! MY BULMA!" He fights till he is limp with exaustion. It's been a hour now and he knew that wasting his energy like that just cost him dearly. The pull of the darkness reminded him of the gravity room, pulling him down. The warmth turns cold and he is pulled down into the dark abyss. Vegeta lets one tear fall just as the heart monitor goes flat.
Bulma's eyes widen and instantly she begins to sob uncontrollably. Her parents go to her side to comfort her as doctors begin to try and revive Vegeta.
Vegeta suddenly opens his eyes upon hearing voices and Bulma crying. He realizes that he is floating above everyone and he could see the doctors trying to revive his body. He feels a pain in his heart. A pain that he'd never felt before. He realizes, "So this is what love is?" He felt the pain of Bulma as he shared it with her in their bond. "NO...NO...I won't let this happen!" He begins to panic and he tries franticly to return to his body but he remained suspened in the air. "NOOOOOO! I WON'T GO LIKE THIS!! I AM NOT WEAK! BULMAAAAAAA!" Tears stream down his cheeks blinding him. He goes into uncontrolable sobs almost crying in unison with Bulma. "BULMAAAAA!" He goes closer and closer to the light above him and knew King Yama awaited him in the checking station. He shakes with fear and tears continued to fall. He returns his wide eyed gaze back to Bulma. " BULMA!," he sobs.
Bulma falls to her knees sobbing just as Goku flies into the room on Nimbus. "OH NO! IM TOO LATE!," he yells.
Vegeta screams as deep sobs wracked his body and a flood of tears blinded his eyes. "BULMAAAAA!! I LOVE YOOOOUUUU!!!" Suddenly at those words he slowly descends down and to the ground. His first impulse was to run to Bulma and he ran to her and embraced her knowing she couldn't feel him. He sobs deeply," I don't care about my stupid pride anymore Bulma..I love you too much to lose you.. Whatever you'v done to me you'v shown me what it feels like to love. I want to spend Christmas with you and build those stupid snowmen and eat it for crying out loud!"
Goku shoves the doctors out of the way and crumbles a sensu bean into Vegeta's mouth. He speaks telepathicly,"Vegeta, I can sense your spirit in this room..wherever you are you need to return to your body now!"
Vegeta hears Goku and runs into his body.
All is silent for a few seconds then suddenly Vegeta's chest rises quickly then falls. He starts to breath and the heart monitor returns to its normal beeping. Vegeta opens his eyes and he comes in eye contact with Bulma who sat on the floor staring and wondering if he really was alive.
She stands up and throws herself into his arms and starts kissing him franticly. "Oh, Vege-chan! Your alive! ALIVE!"
Vegeta laughs and returns the kiss. "You can't get rid of me that easily Bulma-chan." He starts to cry not caring that everyone was staring at him and Bulma.
CHi CHi smiles sweetly, "This is so romantic...it's like a happy ending in a fairy tale."
Goku smiles down at his wife,"It sure is Chi CHi...it sure is.."
Bulma stares into Vegeta's eye and see the tears rolling down his cheeks. "You do love me my Vege-chan...you love me, you do.."
Vegeta nods and hugs her tightly. He had learned a big lesson and he now understood what love was. The Love for his Bulma-chan.....
