Chapter 3

Goten and Trunks go deeper and deeper into the forest not realizing how far away from home they accually were.
Goten stops and sits on the ground. "My feet are tired."
Trunks rolls his eyes, "your just a big baby."
"Im hungry and it's time for dinner and Mommies making meatloaf."
Trunks puts a hand on his growling stomach and stares at his feet. He didn't know how hungry he was until he had stopped.
"Your Papa is messed up in the head...there are no wild man eating beasts here. Just stupid bunnies and butterflies..."
Trunks sighs and keeps his temper in check. That's one trait he had of his father's. A temper that you wouldn't believe.
"Your papa is a big dumb rock he probly made it all up ta scare us."
Trunks laughs, "maybe he is but your daddy is really dumb..."
Goten pouts and sticks out his tongue. "My daddy said if your ever hungry there are berries around so Im gonna look for some."
Trunks shrugs and joins his friend to search for food. Suddenly something gives away from under him and he feels like he is falling and falling till he finally stops and his left arm twists in the wrong direction. He screams and slides down somemore. "AIIIIEEEEEEEE! ITAAAI!"
Goten turns around and blinks. "T...Trunks? A..are you there?"
No answer...
Tears begin to sting his eyes and he sits in the dirt not caring that he was dirtying his gi. "OH NOOO! TRUNKS WAS EATEN BY A WILD BEAST! WAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Vegeta watches the sun dip below the horizon from the corner of his eye and he senses another ki coming towards him. "It's about time Kakarotto," he mutters as Goku slowed down and stopped beside him.
"Im just as worried about them as you are Vegeta. Besides I don't think I want Chi Chi yelling at me...and I know you don't either."
Vegeta holds in a slight shudder. He remembers being wacked across the head with a frying pan from Chi Chi. It didn't hurt it was just the fact that he hated it when she yelled and bitched all the time. He had enough trouble with Bulma as it is. He tries to keep a stern face but knew by the way Kakarotto was looking at him he could see the worry on his face. He didn't want to admit he was afraid of what might happen to Trunks and Goten. More for his son than the stupid dopey brat Goten. He whipes away a bit sweat from his brow. "It's so damned hot at this time of the year....hmmph." He flies off into the distance with Goku following close behind.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Goten stares up at the stars throught the trees and wimpers. Once again tears welled in his eyes turning the world into a blur. "I WANT MY MOMMIE! WAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Goku and Vegeta stop and turn their heads towards the direction of the noise.
Goten's sensitive ears suddenly pick up a familiar noise. He hears his father's voice and tears of joy fill his eyes. "DADDY IM HERE! HEERRREE!"
Goku and Vegeta listen in silence and Goku sighs with relief, "about another mile away but I don't hear Trunks's voice.." He looks at Vegeta and sees a look of dispair on the shorter saiyan's face. "Damnit....I know he's there! COME ON!"
Goku sighs, "Poor Vegeta."
Goten wrinkles his nose and squints and recognizes the two blue auras of Vegeta and his father. He waves his arms and jumps up and down, "DADDY!"
Goku sped down faster and in seconds he was on the ground and his son had thrown himself into his arms.
"Oi, Goten...I was so worried about you...you must be starving..your Mommie has the food waiting for us at home.
Goten started crying.
"What's wrong Goten," Goku asks confused.
"TRUNKS WAS EATEN BY A BIG BEAST! I was standing there and when I turned around I heard him scream and then he was gone!"
Vegeta balls his fist and tries to hold his composure but He knew Goku was looking at him. Watching the crown prince of all saiyans as angry tears welled in his eyes. Vegeta turns around and crosses his arms and tries to sense his son's ki. The small bond between father and son had connected between them when Trunks was born and his eyes widen when he realized Trunks wasn't very far away. He runs over to a large hole in the ground he could only see pitch black darkness. He charges up and his blue aura glows brightly and lites the forest like a torch. He could barely make out the purple of his son's hair. "He's down here," he replies almost excitedly. There was hope after all...his son would be alright and then he would scold the brat for running off. "Trunks?"
NO reply
"TRUNKS!," he yells more urgently.
Again...only silence.
