The city is busy with the hustle and bustle of traffic and people are trying to get to their designated work area. On this day the roads are slick with the early frost of autumn and Bulma walks alongside her husband hand in hand.
Vegeta hadn't been acting right over the last week and he claimed that he felt somewhat weakened for a reason unknown to him.
Bulma suggested that he take a break from training and spend more time with her. After much persuasion Vegeta gave in to her pleas.
Bulma smiles when a small girl toting a stuffed plush squid toy runs past her and to her young mother ahead. She lifts her eyes to Vegeta, "You miss the kids?"
Vegeta nods without speaking.
Suddenly, at the corner of Bulma's eye, she could sense something odd approaching her. For a moment she wonders if she is going mad but the power she feels nearby is unmistakably evil.
"You must be the new guardian," A woman's voice chirps. "Allow me to demonstrate my awesome power!"
Bulma plants her feet firm, startling Vegeta.
"Woman, why did you stop? You look as if you've seen a damn ghost!"
"Not seen..," she whispers. "I heard it."
In horror, Bulma watches as a shimmery form of a person pushed the little girl into the road as a red corvett sped towards her out if control. "Show Them," the voice chanted. "SHOW THEM SHOW THEM!!"
Without thinking, Bulma's instincts pull her forward into the road, away from Vegeta before he could stop her. She stands before the child, her arms held before her to stop the car. Squeezing her eyes shut she screams, waiting for the inevitable feeling of her body being crushed by a ton of steel.
"Any minute now...any..." She opens her eyes. "I'm alive! Oh god my hands!"
She stares down at her hands buried in the hood of the car, gasoline and oil pouring out around her.
The child behind her is gone, scooped up by her mother and everyone is silent. All but a few whispers of surprise can be heard.
Bulma blinks, "I'm not that strong...How could I?"
"BULMA!!!," Vegeta cries as he sprinted towards her.
She turns to meet him with an equally confused expression, only to halt her husband's advances like he'd just been shot in the rear.
"Bulma?," He asks the young woman.
Before him stood not the old Bulma but a younger version of herself, looking no older than perhaps twenty years of age. Her teal hair had grown to her waist, tossing softly in the wind and sending a bright sheen across its silky exterior. "You stopped the car," he finshes, his eyes as wide as saucers.
Bulma faces the car, seeing her reflection in the broken window. "Oh god, what's...happening to me?!"
Vegeta grabs her by the waist and quickly takes flight. "We're going to have a long talk with Dende. So help me...if this is his idea of a joke...I'm not LAUGHING!!"
Bulma stares at the ground below her long hair whipping around her. The clouds seemed to glow around her as they rose higher and higher. The shock of her sudden reguvenation of youth slips away and for a moment she felt at peace. The sky hummed with the voices of the wind, things she'd never heard her entire life. "It's so..beautiful," she sighs. "Can't you hear it Vegeta?"
Vegeta frowns, "HEAR WHAT?!"
"The sky."
"Woman! You are mad! The sky doesn't sing!"
"Vegeta...I can hear it. It's so beautiful."
Vegeta takes her chin and faces his now stunningly beautiful wife. "What happend that night? I demand you tell me! You haven't been acting right since."
"Neither have you," she tells him. "You've been getting weaker. I can feel it now...almost as if somethings drinking you energy away."
Vegeta fell silent. "What are you talking about? I feel nothing."
Closing her eyes she rests her head into the hollow of his neck. "This is all I've wanted Vegeta and somehow she heard me."
"She?!"
Bulma nods, "The red haired woman from my dreams. She said she gave me her power for reason I don't know yet. It has something to do with the saiyans though..."
Aside from the warm sun beating down on them, Vegeta felt a sudden chill climb up his spine. Maybe she's right...there is something wrong with me......
