It was a hot day on the Saiyan home planet of Vejita. Bardock was
busy in his lab, still trying to find the solution to the full moon
dilemma that King Vegeta had asked him to solve. The solution he'd
come up with so far was to create an energy source that was a perfect
simulation of a full moon's glow. How to actually make that energy source was another problem.
As he was working on an equation, the door burst open and in ran
his six-month-old daughter, Marita. Her twin sister, Regirta, was
close behind her, a ball of ki in her hand. Throwing down his pencil,
Bardock yelled, "Hold it right there, you two!"
The ball of ki immediately disappeared from Regirta's hand and Marita
stopped dead in her tracks. Both turned to face their father. "What's
going on, Marita?" Bardock demanded.
"Well, we were busy training and I caught Regirta off guard…" Marita started.
"I was not off guard, Marita!" Regirta interrupted. "I just wasn't
expecting you to do what you did, since we were just training and not in an actual battle."
"Yeah, right," Marita retorted. "Anyway, I caught Regirta off guard
and hit her with a ki blast. It sent her into a wall and knocked
her out. When she came to, I offered to help her up, but instead
of just getting up, she threw a blast right in my face and started
chasing after me, throwing ki bombs at me the whole time. I figured
if I ran in here, you'd stop her."
Bardock turned to Regirta. "Is this true, Regirta?" he asked.
"Yes," Regirta replied, without any hint of remorse in her voice.
"Except it was a fist I threw in her face and not a ki blast."
Bardock was silent for a moment, a stern expression on his face.
As if on cue, Marita and Regirta tensed in fear. They knew perfectly
well what usually resulted when this happened. Then, seeing the
frightened expressions on his daughters' faces, his own facial expression
softened. "You two should be more careful. You could accidentally
hurt someone if you don't watch out."
The two girls immediately relaxed and smiled. "We will," they replied.
A sudden explosion caused the three to rush outside. Seripa, one
of Bardock's fighting partners, joined them.
"That blast came from the palace throne room!" Seripa cried.
Bardock check the power reading on the scouter he was wearing. "According
to my scouter, there's 3 of them, and they're all Eltarians," he said.
"What?!" Seripa shrieked, a confused tone in her voice. "Are you sure?"
"Yes," Bardock answered. "We'd better get over to the palace quick."
"Let us come this time," Marita said. "Please, Father?"
"Yeah, Dad. We could help," Regirta added.
"No, you two stay here," said Bardock. "Something about this doesn't
feel right and I don't want you two to get hurt."
"Oh, all right," they groaned.
With that said, he and Seripa flew off at top speed in the direction of the palace.
